Pros

I see on the reviews, many people complain about low pay. I found the pay to be very satisfactory, but I’m a US citizen. Pay includes a significant quarterly bonus. The size of the bonus is predefined and included in the salary offer. Although bonuses are always discretionary, they seem to be somewhat automatic and reduced only when an employee is “on -the-bench”. Health insurance is reasonably priced. Vision and dental is bundled with health plan. Two health plans are available – Medium deductible and high deductible. Medium deductible covers “preventative” care, but deductible applies for other office visits and services. Be advised in 2015, only a high deductible plan will be offered. Paid bench time is extremely generous. I was released from my project not long after I started with the company. Wipro paid me while I was on the bench for months until they found me a new assignment. Except for no bonus, I received full regular pay and benefits while I was on the bench. The first two days on the job will be an orientation in Atlanta. All air, hotel, expenses paid in advance, meals are catered. No out of pocket except ground transportation and parking which are reimbursed. Hint: The Marta train goes from the airport to a mile away from the training center - $6.00 round trip. When they arrange air transport they cut arrival and departure times pretty close to the start and end times of the orientation session.

Cons

I suspect the people complaining about low pay are people based in India or are Indian nationals transferred from India to the US. Wipro gets contracts by underbidding its competitors. It does that by having a mostly low-paid Indian workforce. If you’re an Indian recruited to work in the US, research US pay before accepting a job. What may seem like a very high India wage could end up being a very low US wage. Do not count on a stable work environment. Wipro uses the term “project” instead of contract. Projects are often for short duration. When I was hired I was told I would be on a long term assignment – several years. After a short duration I was told there was no work and put on the bench. When they did assign me to a new project, it was short term. They sent me an email informing me the duration of the project was shortened even more. Then the person who sent me the email denied my role in the project was shortened at all. Wipro policy states the maximum time on a project is two years. After that, the company may expect the employee to find a new project and new account. If the project is less than two years, Wipro will usually expect to transfer to a new account even if qualified for projects on the previously worked account. Wipro has a workforce management group dedicated to finding new assignments for benched employees. Even though they found me an assignment, I sensed a lack of encouragement and support. Wipro expects employees to be open to relocation. For mobile people, this might be OK, but for people with families and houses, it may not be practical. The standard Wipro relocation package is relatively small. Check with your tax accountant. Wipro expects employees to take tests on their core competencies. It’s called UCF. The company is very disorganized. Much like traffic in downtown Delhi. Company culture is very much Indian. Expect most of your colleagues and mangers to be Indian. I regularly get company-wide emails expressing kudos to various employees. The people getting kudos are almost always Indian. Rarely do non-Indians get any kind of kudos. Communication is difficult and time consuming. Language is often a barrier because of accent and Indian v.s. US wording. HR, administrative, and many management functions are done in India. I was never sure who my supervisor was. For most needs, there isn’t a convenient way to call someone and talk with them on the phone – most communication is via email and email responses to inquiries tend to be slow. Be aware administration and deadlines are based on India time, not US time. I find most of my Wipro email comes at night because India days are US nights. Depending on the time zone, India is about half a day ahead of US time.

Pros

Positive and supporting work culture where employees feel valued and respected. Team environment is very friendly and colleagues are always willing to help each other, which creates a collaborative atmosphere.

Cons

I would not 100% consider it as cons as its common thru most MNC's. But opportunities for fast career progression can vary depending on the project or team.

Pros

There are no pros to working for Wipro.

Cons

This company is a sh** show. There are too many managers and less and less people to do the actual work. They have people that negotiate contracts and then expect the company to make money. In reality, most of the time the contract is basically giving the house away. It is the employees that suffer. When the contracts go south, they cut more people. Those people are then screwed over. Be warned!! If your position ends on the 25th of the month, your health insurance also ends on the 25th of the month. Note that the premium you paid, is not pro-rated, justifying the end of coverage on the 25th. You still pay the usual premium, which should then have your coverage run through the end of the month. If they can destroy a person, they will. They want more and more and more from their employees. While they preach all this mental health, work life balance, it's a sham. They have no regard for the well being of the employee, which carries over to the employee's family.
