Pros

Corporate provides training programs, online learning opportunities. Pay is on par with the position for the geographical region.

Cons

Complete lack of trust in the 'doers.' Very little respect from upper management for the 'underlings'. Complete lack of guidance and leadership. The Sales group is very good at selling products that don't exist to potential clients and executive management excels at pushing everyone to then try and duct-tape something together that might satiate the client until such time as we actual implement the product sold. There are absolutely no formal processes in place for any line of business. This causes tremendous confusion among everyone. The Project Managers are expected to 'manage' a project in which there is no product, severe resource constraints (most are offshore and those that are do not know how to effectively communicate (email is the preferred method...you will receive upward of 200 new email per day), and no support or guidance provided by direct management. Developers are expected to work 24/7 and unexpected life circumstances are just not tolerated. If your father in India passes away, don't expect to be able to travel to attend the funeral. After all, you have to build the product that was sold to the client that management said we have and is fully functional. The philosophy of this particular part of the organization seems to be, Over Promise and Under Deliver. Many times, the work environment is borderline hostile. It is not uncommon to see an individual or group of individuals called out, berated, and objectified, in an email sent to the entirety of the office. Wipro corporate has a policy which does not allow an employee to transfer to another position until they have been in their current position for at least 2 years.

Pros

Positive and supporting work culture where employees feel valued and respected. Team environment is very friendly and colleagues are always willing to help each other, which creates a collaborative atmosphere.

Cons

I would not 100% consider it as cons as its common thru most MNC's. But opportunities for fast career progression can vary depending on the project or team.

Pros

There are no pros to working for Wipro.

Cons

This company is a sh** show. There are too many managers and less and less people to do the actual work. They have people that negotiate contracts and then expect the company to make money. In reality, most of the time the contract is basically giving the house away. It is the employees that suffer. When the contracts go south, they cut more people. Those people are then screwed over. Be warned!! If your position ends on the 25th of the month, your health insurance also ends on the 25th of the month. Note that the premium you paid, is not pro-rated, justifying the end of coverage on the 25th. You still pay the usual premium, which should then have your coverage run through the end of the month. If they can destroy a person, they will. They want more and more and more from their employees. While they preach all this mental health, work life balance, it's a sham. They have no regard for the well being of the employee, which carries over to the employee's family.
