Trust in leadership deteriorating fast - Systems Engineering Manager World Wide Technology Employee Review

Pros

The ATC and NAIC are exceptional facilities/resources. When the company truly adhered to our Core Values, it was a stellar place to be. I purposely left a very rewarding career to join WWT based on THE PATH, the people here and a culture that drew teams together. My first several years were really good and full of growth.

Cons

I have lost so much TRUST in the executive leadership team. In haste to try to be like our big OEM partners, they rush to follow suit when they had the culture model nailed and 'were' the example to be followed. Now they are succeeding in trying to be like Cisco, Dell, etc. which is devastating. Lost focus on what made us special and worse, are tearing it down. Leaders supposed to adhere to 'IML', yet aren't held accountable when they don't. Worse, they get recognized for behaviors that have nothing to do with driving profit. Recently, Jim had Chuck Robbins on a company update. After a discussion on 'inclusion', they wrapped with a quick congratulations to Chuck on acceptance into the most 'exclusive' country club in the nation. Talk about tone deaf. Their rhetoric on so many social issues that don't impact technology solution development is misplaced and entirely unnecessary. Why participate in divisive discussions that have zero to do with our business? They've propagated false information on COVID hospitalizations as a way to justify compliance with executive orders. They have offered confidential discussions with three of the execs, but what do we do when we don't TRUST those execs? They've lost my trust, but worse, they've lost the trust of over half of my team. How can I retain the best talent in our industry when the execs ignore the input from leaders trying to keep the teams together? I'm so disappointed that what was once a wonderful place to be is now just like any other tech company...all politics and less and less focus on the people and technology that helped get you here. What was wrong with the culture our first 30 years that wasn't riddled with politics? In fact, the most painful part of this is me having to write this here because I do not TRUST anyone in HR, or the executive leadership team to listen, much less care, without putting myself at risk. Lastly, their handling of the covid mandates are just not good and further demonstrate a tone deaf approach, as if the employee base aren't well educated and bright people who can see right through political/corporate speak. I've stopped listening to the company updates as they are now just like listening to a political pundit spin a story. Jim is better than this and I'm just baffled at how he's been forced into being so divisive.

We are very sorry you have lost trust in our leadership. WWT wants to be a Great Place To Work for ALL which sometimes involves difficult discussion regarding inclusiveness. We have been truthful and transparent to all our employees throughout the pandemic. There is only so much we can do in light of the recent Executive Order from the government. We would like to try and help you if there is any interest in speaking with someone. Thank you.

Pros

Remote work was nice. Pay and benefits were decent.

Cons

- Toxic, toxic, toxic - Zero work life balance - Lots of back stabbing going on. Too many management changes. Everyone has to claw for things in a negative way to get anywhere. - Bro culture and a company founder who prays and preaches at company meetings? That should NEVER happen. - No inclusivity. They say DEI is important but when the leaders are praying and seemingly right wing that doesn't reflect. - "Great Place to Work" is a total scam. They basically make you do it, talk about it constantly, remind you to take the surveys, even say how to rate. It's disingenuous. - Over-worked and ran PM's too thin, then when you get too burned out to do your job effectively you're not supported. I was running multiple projects during the day and had another project that required 12 am, 2am meetings as it was an Asian customer. I had no balance, no sleep, zero support. Instead of mitigating it, they wrote me up because I forgot something trivial (so trivial I don't even remember what it was). I was so stressed my hair literally fell out! I was so grateful to have another company headhunt me so that I could quit. TOXIC!
