You'll be exposed to working with a large variety of personalities and backgrounds. They'll give you a good jumpstart to your career by easing you into having responsibilities. If you are tagged as a High Potential person and ranked high early, there are some cool projects you can work on within your first 5 years.
Cons
Truly awful career development. I was high potential and ranked in the highest bucket every year I was there. I asked to be moved from Production to Facilities to expand my knowledge base... after a year I gave up and asked to be moved from Production to Reservoir/Dev Planning. The company was excited for me to continue to grow, but the S&D process was so slow that no one could get anything pushed through. After two years of waiting I quit and joined private equity and went on to work Midsized. I have learned so much more in my time working for small/medium sized companies versus being stuck in a Production Engineering role because they didn't want to lose my skillset.
