Pros

Co-workers were really the only thing that made the experience bearable.

Cons

Management clearly lets you know that you are replaceable if you are unhappy at the company, stressed, etc. Little to no appreciation for long hours spent with below average pay for the Bay Area. They believe giving employees a 'Bagel Monday' is supposed to make up for the lack of appreciation. Hours are insane -- you are lucky if you get a chance to walk to the kitchen to grab your lunch. Most of the company is extremely unhappy with their jobs so the work environment is super tense/uncomfortable. The only positive is that everyone bonds over how much they hate their jobs! The interview process was far too easy which I wish picked up on. Any company that really invests in their employees will make sure they pick the right candidate. EEG is more focused on quickly replacing employees before their clients notice. The turn over rate is through the roof and the owners choose to turn the other cheek instead of changing their money driven ways. While I was working at EEG 2-3 employees within the Operations department were leaving each month. In a department of 20 people that was enough to make me get out as quickly as possible!

Pros

- Opportunity to work on multi-million dollar projects - Most of the clients are from the tech industry, which signifies steady business (even during times like Covid) - Fantastic learning due to the complexity of the projects - A lot of traveling (inside and outside the US)

Cons

- It's a mean-girls culture. If you click with the main group, you'll grow within the company. You don't really know who you can trust. - You need to stand up for yourself constantly and set boundaries. Managers can be very abusive with what they need from you. - Some clients are great, some are also abusive. The agency lets them for the sake of keeping the business. - Little to no appreciation for the hard work you do. They'll belittle you pretty quickly if you make a mistake. However, to mask the fact they care they'll robotically throw the phrase "Your work doesn't go unnoticed". - The pressure is insane; it gets worse when you are onsite. - They hire travel directors to execute the program onsite, but most of them act like they know more than you and are extremely hard to manage and get respect from. - The pay is not great - Absolutely NO work/life balance - I have seen SO MANY people start and quit immediately. Truly a turn and burn place. - Sink or swim culture. Even if you urgently need something, the answer is : "Did you look in the handbook?" It would be a lot faster and easier to indicate where the information is for the new employee. If that repeats, it is the employee's fault, but if it's the first time they are asking, it's just mean.

Pros

Travel, company showers you with gifts to flaunt its apparent wealth

Cons

As others have mentioned, favoritism, cliques, and bullying is commonplace in this organization. You will be pushed until you break - key word is "until." Several new employees came to me with concerns about their mental health and that they had had several quote, "breakdowns" daily to weekly. These were not only because of the exorbitant workload, but because of the poor treatment received by more senior members of the staff at EEG. It is a culture of "mean girls" - so if that was you in high school, you'll fit right in. There is also commercial bribery happening with certain clients receiving services beyond event management from their designated staff - i.e. personal assistant duties and massages. For less than 3 figures, no one should be working more than 40 hours a week first of all. They haze new employees and care only about making money by overcharging clients. Internal documents are excessive, unnecessary, and are more important than client well-being. If you are new, you will be thrown under the bus if any mistakes are made - especially if that mistake is made by an account director.
