Pros

Co-workers are nice. You are able to get PTO at the beginning of the year.

Cons

The company is extremely unorganized. You are not allowed to work overtime, you will be burnt out constantly as they load you with work as opposed to hiring the help they need.

We're glad to hear that you built meaningful relationships with your coworkers and were able to use our Responsible Time Off program. However, we’d like to clarify that overtime is permitted when approved and aligned with business needs. We strive to balance workloads appropriately while supporting both employee well-being and business objectives. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please contact our HR team at hrsupport@equiliem.com.

Pros

Hybrid. A few genuine people. Bagels on Tuesdays.

Cons

Company has been on a steady decline for years. Owner and his 3 offspring (who are all in C-Level leadership positions, no surprise there…) are completely out of touch with daily operations and the state of the union that the company is in. The company name had changed at least 3 times before I started, which should have been the first red flag. Perhaps the biggest red flag, though, was learning that I reported up to someone who eats chicken wings with a knife and fork! There is no formal structure for performance reviews or 1:1s. Some teams do them, some teams don’t, and nothing is followed up on or is ever documented. They do not give pay raises or performance bonuses (even though they will tell you they do during your interview). They do, however, pay an obnoxious amount of Director, VP, President, & C-Suite level salaries - more than half of which are not needed since the company is so small and underperforming, and since most of them are either incompetent or completely unaware of how to civilly speak to other people. Not to worry though, there’s a $25 holiday bonus - in the form of a Butterball check (yes, as in the turkey). They have not invested in building a sales/business development team, so requisitions trickle in and are rarely desirable. Recruiters are constantly starving; working 1-2 jobs per week is not enough to sustain a successful career. And since they can’t be selective on which clients they work with (beggars can’t be choosers), most end up being a dead end or a revolving door. They changed the commission structure because the company was, as we were told, “bleeding out,” so for 1.5 years they profited 100% on all direct hire placements and recruiters were paid nothing (even for placements made before the change was announced). To add insult to injury, any employees who voiced their opinion too loudly regarding the changes were let go. It took them over 6 months to create a “career roadmap” that is literally a road to nowhere. Unattainable goals and benchmarks making any form of career progression impossible. And in true Equiliem fashion, it was rolled out then was never to be seen again. There is an extremely high turnover rate in every department, either from layoffs or people just jumping ship. There is zero job security or loyalty unless you are family, are in “their community”, or went to school with their children, and in any of those cases they will just move you to a different department or change your job tile as needed (no matter how unqualified you are..)! Recruiting Directors are in their positions thanks to nepotism, not because of skill or performance; they would not last at any other company due to either incompetence or a repulsive personality. The company is a complete clown show. Not worth anyone’s time or energy. 0/10, would not recommend.
