I have been working at ExtraHop Networks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The market space is growing and there is a clear need in from SME to Enterprise. ExtraHop is positioned to to be a player in the space, albeit with a lot of competition

    Cons

There are a lot of great people at this company, However, the channel ‘leadership’ is the biggest failure from a sales leadership perspective. The guys that lead our indirect sales are awful and the irony is that their own team knows and is vocal about it- and the sales leadership team knows it as well. It’s the standard box checking corporate ‘protect your job’ thing. Not sure how long sales leadership will turn their heads. It is our biggest hurdle to real market penetration. Next, the marketing message is confused and confusing. It’s not that hard to get it right.

I have been working at ExtraHop Networks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You’ll get a lot of practice dodging incompetent people who are determined to throw you under the proverbial bus. There are a few good people, but most have left.

    Cons

Worst management staff ever. Really, really awful management. Did I say really awful management? Most managers here are not competent, and want to hire people who will make them look good, but don’t threaten their position. It’s a delicate dance for them, clearly, because anyone who is smart and has talent is a threat, and they will sabotage these people by limiting their ability to move into interesting roles or even be satisfied in their current role. Because the management team is paranoid, your job has to be as mundane as possible so that no one has a chance to really shine. You will also be micromanaged until makes you crazy. How can ExtraHop keep people who destroy any hope of joy and success at what could be a great company? The company leadership has to be hopeless to not notice or not care. The wonderful 5-star reviews that are posted are not a reflection of what’s going on at ExtraHop, by the way. I know of no one with that rosy an outlook on this place.

I have been working at ExtraHop Networks full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Solid product, genuinely great people, including very approachable leadership. Explosive growth in market share and hiring, tapered now with Covid but still constant and interesting business developments that lead to growth and career opportunities. Its evolving from a startup, meaning there is investment in resources to make your job easier but you can still get things done without bureaucracy and get to enjoy working with close-knit teammates, even if its over zoom.

    Cons

This pandemic has been stressful but nothing different than anywhere else right now.

    Pros

Great Technology and yet more than 10 years into it, many still do not know the name ExtraHop

    Cons

Communication is quite poor, worst I have seen ever at a company. All leadership needs to look intently at their hires and in the tools being utilized to help achieve goal. All organizations need to recognize fatal flaws here.

I have been working at ExtraHop Networks full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some of the people are awesome. Product has the potential to be amazing.

    Cons

ExtraHop recently let go of dozens of employees under the umbrella of a RIF. Many selected were loyal employees who had made significant contributions to the success of the company, and eligibility criteria seemed to be all over the map and some great people were let go. I’m eyeing the exit and will be leaving as soon as I can. The company spent the better part of a year over hiring and adding to the already-bloated management headcount to increase the hierarchical structure. No one seems to understand why.

I have been working at ExtraHop Networks full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I started working at ExtraHop in September 2019. My interview experience was great and the Recruiting and HR team are incredible group of people to work with. The company culture is astounding and there is definitely a great balance between work and life. The Recruiting Team and HR team makes sure each of their teammates are successful and have the resources needed to be confident with what they need to accomplish. (And we all have a great sense of humor!) There are events that happen every single month that ExtraHoppers can enjoy. From Coffee Pop-ups in our cafe, to Plant nights, to random Pizza and catering events and even more. The company is growing at an immense rate, and now is the best time to join.

    Cons

N/A, it's been a great work experience so far.
