Pros

The Wework office in Sydney was lovely Other employees are really nice

Cons

The worst management style I have ever come across. The entire senior level of fareharbor is a complete boys club and unless your mates with one of them (or sleeping with one of them) you have no chance of promotion. The Sydney office is ruled by an actual dictatorship (2 persons put in a complaint against said person and received termination letters the following day - how is that allowed!?) Base pay is shockingly low, and the commission is a total fake promise. Other companies (that you have to work to get live) pay your wages because FH are too tight to fork out any money to keep good employees. There are absolutely no employee benefits (no healthcare, bonus scheme, NOTHING) apart from a single box of fruit to the office once a week. Managers will lie to you to try and push you to get clients live so that if you leave they can retain the profit that YOU earnt. Terrible terrible culture of ‘dwifting’ (doing whatever the f it takes) which basically gives the expectation that employees should work ridiculous hours in return for the occasional pizza or beer funded by FH.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback, apologies for our delayed response. We take all feedback positively and welcome opportunities to help drive our business in the right direction and improve our employee experience. To address some of your concerns regarding the makeup of our leadership team in our Sydney office. At present, our leadership team is 60% female including our Regional General Manager and we pride ourselves in allowing everyone the opportunity to grow within the organisation, something we are pleased to see. To provide some clarity surrounding the remuneration package, this is calculated based on the analysis provided to us by Mercer, a market leader in remuneration analysis using similar industry averages. We then provide employees with an opportunity to earn an uncapped commission on top of the base salary to make up the overall remuneration package. Furthermore, we have been listening to what both our current employees and former employees have been saying over the past year and taking those concerns on board. We have made a concerted effort to implement initiatives to increase employee engagement, improve our office culture and the overall employee experience. Thank you for your feedback, without this we wouldn’t have been able to make the changes that we have! If you have any further questions, concerns or feedback to share, please feel free to reach out to us directly at hr.apac@fareharbor.com.

Pros

FareHarbor has the best product in a relatively untapped market providing some great opportunities for all employees especially Account Executives. As an Account Executive you have a large amount of autonomy and are required to think critically on a daily basis. Account Executives that work hard and problem solve rise to the top in compensation (commission) and thrive in the role. There are endless opportunities in upward mobility for employees willing to be patient as new positions in the company continue to open up. Being in the tourism industry there are awesome opportunities to travel and partake in our client's experiences. It is great to work at a sales job where the software & service I am selling adds value to the businesses that use it. As a company FareHarbor continues to make the right long term product decisions in an increasingly competitive space. A rising tide lifts all boats and it is exciting to be apart of the FareHarbor team.

Cons

As a rapidly growing company in a new market there are certainly some growing pains such as not enough experienced managers and lack of structure but is that the worst problem to have? There simply are not enough experienced employees to hold new employees hands for a long period of time. Problem solving skills and intrinsic motivation is critical.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write this review and share your experience! We couldn’t agree more - it is absolutely exciting being able to work at FareHarbor and see all of the incredible ways we are adding value to so many businesses. As you mentioned, we are a fast-growing company in a very nimble industry, but we have taken concrete steps to ensure that all of our managers are being trained and given the proper tools to be successful, and we are working every day to create more structure across the board. We will continue to be thoughtful about all of our decisions, and thank you for your dedication and hard work as an Account Executive! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the People Team directly if you would like to continue this discussion!

Hi there, thank you for your feedback, apologies for our delayed response. We take all feedback positively and welcome opportunities to help drive our business in the right direction and improve our employee experience. We are pleased to hear that you felt that you had a good work-life balance and great coworkers during your employment with FareHarbor. To address some of your concerns. We, as well as many other organisations, are taking measures to help our leadership team grow and develop on a continuous basis. We find that these initiatives help us to improve both communication and collaboration among other skills which not only helps our leaders to grow but our organisation as a whole. With regards to working environment and attrition, we have been making a concerted effort to listen to what employees have to say. We have been using this feedback to enhance our office culture and contribute to the overall employee experience which has also contributed to our attrition rate remaining under our annual target. This shows the importance of gaining feedback from all our past and present employees and acting on what you have to say in order to help us continue to develop and grow together. Thanks again for your feedback and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours. If you have any further questions, concerns or feedback to share, please feel free to reach out to us directly at hr.apac@fareharbor.com.
