Pros

Health Benefits are reasonable and inexpensive. One hour lunch provided. A few employees made this horrible work experience bearable. No other pros.

Cons

Poor Management. No room for advacement. Poor training. Low balled salary for the amount of work expected. If you are not part of the cliques you are treated badly. No real HR you can share concerns with. Staff is unprofessional as they talk about other employees. Very unstable environment. No vacation or sick days until 6 mos of employment.

Pros

I can think of a few employees who were good to work with and willing to help. We could always confide in each other. Unfortunately, we mostly shared how badly this company is run and how frustrated we were.

Cons

The culture at Foremost is absolutely toxic. Middle and upper management in the Hobart office are the root cause of the problem. Lack of communication is one of the biggest issues here - between management and lower level employees and between teams. Design does not communicate with sales, sales does not communicate with production, production doesn't communicate with QC. Actually, scratch that. There's no QC in this company. When things go wrong no one is willing to accept responsibility. They all play the blame game and point fingers at each other. How do you expect to evolve as a company if you're not willing to solve any problems? Management talks the talk but it doesn't lead anywhere. The work environment is hostile and, save for a few employees, thrives on dragging each other down. There is little to no support here, you're expected to know everything even though management doesn't communicate what is going on within your department. If you have any compassion you're seen as weak. Finally, the product is outdated and made cheaply. They make a lot of promises in terms of production that they know they can't fill - and they wonder why they're losing customers.

Pros

- Health benefits are decent - Work is easy if you pay attention to detail and have good organizational and time management skills

Cons

- Little to no female representation at upper management levels - Upper management individuals are "old school" in their management techniques and are rarely open to more progressive ideas to improve morale and company culture - One office utilizes a very unforgiving attendance system, and employees are punished with "points" regardless of whether they were ill, one minute late, or four hours late. The attendance policy is handled independently by each manager rather than HR. Some managers may be more willing to cut employees a break. - Employees are not treated fairly. Some employees practically get away with murder while others are reprimanded for making a typo on an order. - The lack of communication is awful from the top down. VPs, managers, warehouse, office all have one thing in common, the communication is terrible. Sadly, little is done to address the and it tends tombs brushed off as the "Foremost" way. - Management expects employees to stay at their workspace for the entire eight hours and silently work. - Members of management treat employees like children and often make snide comments regarding age - Blatant sexism: Multiple times I heard derogatory comments from upper management about women and their abilities - Sexual harassment and racism: Again, inappropriate and derogatory remarks from members of management - Unsupportive HR department: HR does not investigate claims, conversations with HR are not confidential or anonymous, they are there to protect the employer and management teams - Paid time off: 10 vacation days, 5 sick days. Management generally would like an exact reason for your request off, and using your paid time off for an interview or job search is "abuse of the policy." - Time off is given to you at the beginning of the year under the assumption you will work the entire year. If you take days off and don't work enough days to cover it, you owe the company. Time off does not roll over and you don't not receive pay for your unused vacation days. - Pay is lower than that of similar positions at other companies - Company tends to downplay the level of work employees do by including words like "specialist," "clerk," or "representative" in their title so they don't have to bring them up to salary level/pay more
