Pros

There were several people who enjoyed the chocolate fridge. Office location near a tube stop.

Cons

Misoginist leadership team. Lack of communication. Office culture built around inappropriate 'banter' Aggressive management style from senior leaders. Lack of foresight, only ever operated in the now. CEO opened your mail if anything was delivered to the office. Stacked with family friends and people who were too close to the business to take on board recommendations. Zero diversity.

Problematic workplace culture

Pros

They liked to think they were there to have a good time.

Cons

The 'founding' team members are so close-knit that you can't disagree with them on anything - even if that is your job. I also frequently found that conversations veered into problematic areas all too often that made me very uncomfortable, and this was from the leadership team, couple that with the can't criticise culture and it made me feel very out of place. The leadership team struggle with giving constructive criticism they often blurt out what they're thinking with little disregard for how it can be received and then blame you if you 'take it the wrong way'. I also found it odd how many family friends were in the businesses. And it felt like every new hire was a carbon copy of the leadership team - a straight, white man who is interested in sports. I don't think there was ever a time that I was at the company when I felt comfortable and I don't think the leadership team gave a damn about that. It feels like they all want to be in Mad Men.

Pros

- Leaving the business - Many of the newer employees have a great growth mindset and genuinely great to work with. - Very interesting product and does fill a gap in some B2B markets.

Cons

- Excelling within this company comes down to if you're male, like football or friends and family. - Employee benefits don't exist (They will mention HR is joining but didn't happen during my time of employment and they wont even by milk for the office so don't get your hopes up) - Lack of trust between lower teams from senior leadership. - They describe is a fun start up with a big vision (As long as your vision doesn't consist of any change from the original ways of working... there is a reason this business has been a start up for 10 years). - There has a been a wave of redundancies some of which was a smart decision (Processes and hitting KPIs are a huge pain internally and needed to be cut back and evaluated). However some removals were the talent who would have made the business excel. Some team member have been kept on who are anchors to the old ways and this will damage the business. - I wont be surprised if more leave the organisation because of these changes and lack of care for employee welfare. - Mental Health is a huge problem for a lot of employees at the business (burn out is common). I felt totally let down when hearing negative/ joking comments from leadership themselves in regards for the 'care' of their employees and how they've handled this. - I have heard from the Leaderships mouth 'we don't need HR'
