Pros

I made the pivot from tech to energy at Grant PUD and I'm glad I made the transition. My experience thus far: - Very people-centered - Strong company fundamentals - Healthy growth projections the next several years - AI-resistant. Energy demand is growing and many jobs require physical presence. - Coworkers are friendly and down-to-earth - Managers are good listeners and give excellent feedback - Some roles offer hybrid work options such as 2 days remote, 2 days in office. 5x8 or 4x10 shifts. - Generous pay + benefits, even more so compared against cost-of-living in this area.

Cons

If you love big cities, living in Grant County is a significant shift. But there are some incredible pros that come with the area, such as extremely affordable housing + cost of living.

Pros

Stable employment with good benefits

Cons

Grant PUD lacks structure for career growth and advancement in engineering. Pay is below industry average. Unfortunately not a place to spend your entire career.

Pros

The PUD truly cares about employees. We have excellent pay and benefits and plenty of learning opportunities. Work life - balance is one of the best.

Cons

Leadership is fairly new and doesn't seem to work together. They are slow to react to change because everyone is focused on their own agendas rather than working collaboratively. This can cause highly motivated employees to lose their motivation over time because it's difficult to move projects forward or to hold other departments accountable. We have experienced significant growth and leadership has been slow to allocate resources to administrative functions that support growth. There are several overworked departments, while others have extra capacity. There are also issues with internal pay equity between departments.
