Pros
At H2Safety there is a strong emphasis on "work hard, play hard." All the complaints I read about "being over-worked and under-paid" is crazy to me. H2Safety is a small to medium sized company and I feel as a team we come together to meet our deadlines, support our team members, and strive to meet our goals. Are there times when we are required to put in 10+ working hour days? Yes there are. But what was our reward for putting in our extra efforts? Our CEO announced he is taking the entire company to Cabo, Mexico for a 1 week all-inclusive trip. Talk about a reward for putting in hard work! If you are a driven individual always up for a challenge, willing to adapt to an atmosphere that is constantly changing, improving & innovating, and willing to put on different hats for different roles within the company, than this is a company for you. Some people may not like the CEO's approach. He has a very clear idea of where he wants to take the company and is not scared to voice when something has not been successful. He will take the faults and try to figure out how to make them successes. In a time of economic down turn he tried his best to keep everyone fully staffed and we suffered a VERY minor pay cut back (5% wage roll back - which has now been rewarded back to the staff due to hard work and efforts). The amount of efforts to show the appreciation to employees goes above and beyond to me. Trips to Mexico, fun quarterly team builders (Calgary zoo, dance classes, golfing, stampede rodeo - to name a few), for staff who work late dinners are bought, every new staff member gets an on-boarding package which includes a leather notebook personalized with their name, any shirt of their choice, flowers on your desk to make you feel welcome, etc., they have lunches brought in when times are busy so staff doesn't have to worry about meals, recently there was the "H2Safety 12 days of Christmas" which included a surprise for every staff member for the 12 days leading up to the holidays (homemade goodies, seasonal socks, coffee & tea treats, advent calendars, etc), the company raised $3,000 for Pawsitive Match and to thank the employees for their contributions H2Safety let their staff wear pajamas / sweats to work... the list goes on and on! Overall, if you are willing to work hard, your efforts will be rewarded.
