Pros

This place is a sinking ship containing punitive managers who literally have never done a hud case. Let this titanic of an agency sink and do yourself a favor and steer clear from this crazy place. Retention is a foreign word here. Run.

Cons

Everything. Place is abusive and poorly run.

Pros

You're eligible for the same 1811 benefits systemwide throughout the federal government.

Cons

Inadequate leadership, dissatisfied employees, a complete lack of autonomy at work, in order to promote the belief of their "workplace culture" and "team collaboration," which do not exist for 1811 at an OIG, the IG has instituted a new policy requiring employees to return to the office three days a week for no good reason. The majority of SACs and ASACs don't appear to care about their employees' well-being, professional development, or work-life balance, leading to low morale and workplace politics.

Pros

Employees are personable and dealing with bad situation best they can.

Cons

Poor management, lost of trust in management, requiring employees back into the office 3 days a week with no justifiable reason other than to push the idea of culture and collaboration, even though it was 2 days a week prior to the pandemic. Also OPM's policy is 2 days a pay period, while HUD OIG employees are required back into the office 6 days a pay period. Morale is low and management does not seem they care about the employees or work life balance.
