Pros

-For an entry level worker, this is the best experience you can get (any MSP, really) -The people that work there are awesome to get along with, this is the major saving grace of working there and the reason I stuck around as long as I did. -They do provide some off-work activities (people go to dinner, disc golf, company organized game nights, summer picnic)

Cons

Where to start....... -They will work you to the bone, and then want more. There is no respite, no downtime -You are salaried, but treated like an hourly worker, except when it comes to OT (show up exactly at this time, exactly one hour for lunch, cannot leave 1 minute before your scheduled time), but when it comes to working extra, it's considered 'for the team' IE-no extra pay. It's not a two way street with time worked there. -You will very very quickly outgrow the salary that you get. Your only increases will come at your yearly performance reviews, and they are paltry at best, barely outpacing inflation. You starting salary will be decent for your skill set (they will try their best to low-ball you - see the interview review). After less than 2 years, I left for a 40% raise. -People are miserable because they are overworked and underpaid. This will become demoralizing very quickly. -They beat their drums to the bonus and ESOP. Every time it can be brought up in meetings or conversation with management, it is. I guess if you've been at the company for 10+ years, the bonus and ESOP are pretty good. For anyone else, they are not. My ESOP came out to about 2% of my annual salary, hardly anything to motivate me, and it takes 5 years to vest, so after leaving, I got nothing. -You will be deceived. Get everything in writing. They will say anything to make you think like you matter. You will be given promises of intangible things, so they can be rescinded later. Any negotiations should be done in writing or you will not get what you asked for. -A quote from management, "We only hire when we are bleeding." That's right. You will constantly be understaffed. You will be expected to deal with it, and work mandatory unpaid overtime, or a "Blitz" as they call it, to make up for rising ticket numbers and a lack of hiring. This is an effort to keep costs low so the senior management can eck out a few extra bucks into their accounts at the end of the year -The clients will treat you like garbage, and nobody will tell them otherwise. An employee was once almost moved to tears over stuff a client was saying. Management's response to the complaint, "Suck it up, they pay us a lot of money." No protection for employees from clients. -If you want to take pride in your work, don't work at ITS. The work you do will be done as quickly as possible, so it works enough to be passable. There will be constant mistakes due to this speed. Client networks and systems never get any better or stable, because they are never given proper attention. As a self-respecting network engineer, I couldn't take this.

First off, we want to sincerely apologize to the writer of this review. Obviously, we never want an associate to have a negative experience like this at ITS. As a service business, the associates and what they know are the only thing we have – without motivated people nothing would get done. As a 100% employee owned company, ITS exists solely for the benefit of the people who work here – there are no outside shareholders. However, we clearly missed the mark with this reviewer and we accept the feedback. While not all of the review is 100% accurate (employees are immediately vested in a portion of the ESOP, for example) all we can promise is to go back and review what we do so that every employee feels appreciated and fairly compensated.

Pros

ITS is full of talented, personable, incredibly intelligent employees. There's also free coffee and pretzels. Those are pretty much the only pros to working at this company.

Cons

I don't even know where to begin. If you want to work for a company that values quantity over quality, then this is the place for you. If you want clients and money to be put before every lower-rung employee, then apply now. If you want to be overworked, wildly underpaid, and frequently yelled at by your manager, this'll be a perfect fit! Get ready to be screamed at by clients and then get told by upper management that "they pay us a lot", so you have to deal with it. Be prepared to take call after call (this is really just a glorified call center, let's be real) with virtually no time to breathe. Are you overweight and/or a woman? Awesome! I can think of a manager who will berate you endlessly--both to your face and behind your back (oh, c'mon, he's only kidding!!!). I worked at ITS for far too long, mainly because my coworkers were terrific, but after awhile, it just wasn't worth it. If the number of open tickets is too high, it's your fault, if an unreasonable client is upset, it's your fault, if you make a mistake because you're consistently being rushed in order to avoid being publicly humiliated because you didn't close enough tickets that day, it's your fault, if the entire company is understaffed, but just keeps taking on more clients because all they care about is money, then somehow that's your fault too because you don't know how to prioritize or work efficiently. The office is nice, the free* lunch (*only if you work through lunch) is a great perk, the "employee-owned" aspect is cool I suppose, the holiday party is mind blowing, but those are just illusions. The day to day grind is ridiculous and unrealistic. You'll be expected to work nonstop and even extra when the open ticket count is too high. Anyone sane who is not a "teacher's pet" will not last. They'll sink their claws into you, they really will. They'll be charming and make everything seem great. But take it from someone who's been there and who will never go back. It is not worth it. Keep in mind that the Best Places to Work awards were the result of multiple emails sent to the whole company for about a week straight, begging for good ratings. And all these beautiful, raving Glassdoor reviews were coerced out of a lot of employees or they're from the AppDev Department, which has a completely different experience than the Managed Services Department. If you somehow, unfortunately end up working for ITS, good luck.

First of all, thank you for your feedback. Second, we apologize that your experience at IT Solutions was not what you were hoping for. We take criticism seriously and we use everything we hear on sites like this and directly from our employees to make us better. While we believe most people here like working at ITS, clearly there are some areas where we could improve. We're on it.

Pros

Quarterly Meetings are nice to a certain extent - but they are a waste of time. They should just run this for each Department: 1 hour Maximum - and keep it moving. Most of the stuff is unnecessary conversation, with a few people that interrupt the speaker, to act like they are engaged but in reality, they already know the answer to their own bogus question that is asked of the speaker. It is honestly not on us if we have some attrition, and if a certain Department brings in new business, that is great, but we already get the company email if we earn new business, so its pointless to bring it up in the Quarterly Meeting. The ESOP conversation is also a waste of time, we get a certificate each year, we understand it, and can Google it, it we want to learn more. Yes, being an ESOP is great, but come on, what would be better is a much higher salary increase per year that we work for the company for each person that works here, that have earned it.

Cons

There is an overwhelming amount of work per employee. Too Many clients and not enough employees to cover them that are actually good at closing tickets. Unattractive salary for great experienced people is the cause of this. Ticket count is always high, we should blitz everyday - but we are unable to handle it due to extremely poor quality of hires in the last couple of Quarters and a number of excellent employees have left the company to work somewhere else, which is good for them, but we are unable to match the skill set of the people that left, and may never be able to. The finger points straight to the Decision Makers here of this process. Step it up here!

AT IT Solutions we strive to keep our employees informed concerning the “state of the business” on a regular basis because we believe an informed staff is an empowered staff. One of the tools we’ve used for this is the Quarterly Meeting. Yes, some of the information can be repetitious but there are both new and seasoned employees in the room each time we meet, and we repeat the important points for everyone’s benefit. We will continue to deliver the most pertinent information but accept the feedback given and make changes to the meeting and other staff update efforts where we can. As for hiring, we take great strides to find and add the right people to our team with a keen eye on technical skills and personalities that fit our business. We have some of the lowest turnover in our industry and a high percentage of employees who have been with the company for more than 10 years. We agree that a wrong hire can be costly – to morale, client service, time spent training and the team impacted by the wrong hire. We will continue to hone our recruiting processes to stay ahead of the need while working to more quickly identify and on-board the correct candidates as we grow.
