Pros

You will learn much and make a good living. Good facilities and relatively laid back working environment. No micromanaging, you're pretty much left alone if your job well.

Cons

Other people on the staff who write things like "don't work here". There are no opportunities for advancement when your work is no good. Your fault not where you work, simply put you are not promoted when your work is poor or you do little. Like any job there are ups and downs. Some caused by general business climate and some by industry. This company serves the coal fired power plants, that industry has taken some hits.

Pros

Christmas party and nice break room. That is about it.

Cons

Only 3 women on staff. No room for growth or opportunities. The president is not professional and doesn't know how to channel his temper. Employees always seem to be stepping on glass around him.

I am the President of this company and take great offense to be labeled as not being professional. This individual sincerely believes that disagreeing with her approach or opinion is not professional and-or demonstrates an inability to channel one's temper. Everyone on our team is a professional and without demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism day and day out, our clients would never request our services as they have done for over 25 years. It is something I take seriously and it is of paramount importance. There is certainly room from growth and opportunities for anyone whose job performance exceeds that of their peers or at the least, equivalent to their peers. I am sorry and disappointed that this individual believed that the feedback on her job performance was not "constructive criticism". When a job is poorly done and done incorrectly, that feedback must be given so that each team member is fully aware of the what level of performance and what quality of work is acceptable. Exemplary performance warrants additional responsibility, room for growth and is always rewarded . Just because the feedback one receives is not what they want to hear, it does not mean the criticism is not constructive. Everyone would want to hear "job well done" but it is not said when a job not well done. If that were the case, that would certainly be unfair and devalue to praise given to those on our team who do their job well. We are sincerely grateful and appreciative of those on the ICT team do their job well everyday. Plain and simple, no one has ever been "yelled at"for being 5 minutes late asking an opinion. If someone is consistently late, that individual should considering leaving for home for work earlier and this same person consistently arrived late and left early. The easiest way to avoid be counseled or confronted for being chronically late is to make a sincere effort to consistently arrive at work on time. Traffic delays and other unforeseen circumstances certainly occur and no employee at ICT has ever been criticized for unforeseen circumstances beyond their control. Providing negative feedback on poor or unsatisfactory work has nothing to do with " respecting female co-workers". The lack is respect is purely the product of poor work performance and an attitude of indifference. If this individual worked as hard as her peers, her quality of work was satisfactory and managed to make it to work on time - this individuals experience and review would be very different. A very long time was given for this employee to improve her performance and was give ample and appropriate feedback on how to do so. I am happy to hear that this person enjoyed our annual Christmas Party and likes our break room. Those are two perks that all at ICT always seem to enjoy.
