    Pros

    Cons

A bit old and outdated in terms of ideas and implementation

  3. "So happy to be out of there"

Former Employee - Manager in Sydney

I worked at Insurance Australia Group full-time

    Pros

Pays well for very little expectation.Work life balance as no one has a clue what anyone is doing. I was paid well, much more than colleagues from our conversations, yet even with that benefit I couldn't stay there accomplishing nothing and watching people pretending to be critically busy all day.

    Cons

Constant restructuring, a cop of from poor leadership who cannot make a decision or stick to a strategy. 'Yes' people are rewarded and promoted, challenging is viewed poorly. There are entire departments (eg Customer development) who have achieved little since the last major restructure and others whose MO seems to be to block work in other areas. It is a dysfunctional business relying on 'heritage' brands that treat customers like idiots. Employees have Stockholm syndrome and are too scared to leave IAG.

I worked at Insurance Australia Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

No micro management, straightforward role, good pay, rewarding

    Cons

Lack of staff to deal with huge workload, little management at time of catastrophic natural disasters in Australia. Angry customers, little support, training almost non existent. For a backpacker it was a great job but I wouldn't want to do it as a resident.
