Pros

Team culture is wonderful within the wholesale team. The potential to go to Japan to assist on an escorted tour is good, if you're willing to stay on an additional 6 months after your return. You can be selected for famils too.

Cons

Pay is beyond a joke, commission structure is even more laughable. Super comes out of your abysmal pay - don't expect to be comfortable on your salary alone. Over time is expected of you, but yay - you do get paid overtime. Micromanagement at its finest, management will refuse to listen to anything employees have to say in regard to bettering the work environment or practices in place. Expected to work on Saturdays with only two people on, so there's no break cover. Job progression is barely existent.

Pros

I really loved working for JTB - it’s one of the best roles I’ve ever had, and I was sad to leave following redundancies as a result of the pandemic. There was something new to learn every day and the Wholesale team were some of the best people I have ever worked with. Management team was incredibly supportive, kind, reasonable and understanding. The office was always a fun place to be and everyone shared at least the common base interest in Japan, so there was a lot of passion for the product across the board.

Cons

The wage could be higher but overtime was paid at fantastic rates when available. The only real con for myself was being made redundant. There’s a lot of manual systems to learn which for some may be a problem or feel tedious, but I felt it kept things very interesting so that most days were quite different from each other.
