I have been working at Jetpets full-time

    Pros

During my time at Jetpets I have been given countless opportunities for growth and development. They have a great leadership team who have supported me in reaching my goals. The company provides lots of benefits and has a great culture which makes it a pleasure to come to work to each day!

    Cons

As expected in any business, peak season is busy. During this time there can be a high volume of calls in every department. This is where cross training is super important to ensure we can assist one another.

    I worked at Jetpets full-time

    Pros

Working with animals , company vehicle. Not dealing with incompetent management.

    Cons

Where do I start . Management have a very poor understanding of animal welfare and do not have a clue on hoe to run a company . Company went into liquidation and rehired the least qualified people possible . That right there tells you everything . If you are going to book your pet for travel seriously use the other smaller companies who will take great care of your pet , give one on one care and will have people with proven animal experience unlike who they have now . New management just like the old management , aggressive, unrealistic expectations, refuse to listen to common sense , will lie to customers regularly...... and for those who ask for comfort stop for your pet , what you get told that happens and what does happen are two different things. Management really do not have a clue . The old CEO would hire clowns continually who couldn’t ever grasp the animalTransport niche . New CEO is exactly the same . HR guy is a creep and the biggest goose you could ever imagine . Has no idea about anything . Basically avoid using or working for Jetpets on every level .

    I worked at Jetpets full-time

    Pros

Bring your dog to work on Fridays

    Cons

Where do I start? I have been in two minds writing this but I need to have my say. Jetpets is an environment of absolute disorganized chaos and sheer incompetence! the way the place is run everything is 100 times more tedious and difficult than it has to be! ....the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing, and they blame the workers for the fallout. The supervisors are nothing more than glorified seat warmers and have an absolutely useless function. The CEO is no different. They refuse to deal with complaints or take any ownership when things go wrong, which is on a daily basis. Prejudice, Favoritism, discrimination in copious amounts. In this environment you have to be extremely sharp and constantly on the offence....otherwise you will be getting your a** kicked for things you don't deserve. A lot of staff can't defend themselves and put up with it. Hence the exorbitant staff turnover. There is alot of truth to the reviews here on glassdoor. I hope people take heed. Unemployment is a better option for your sanity, if nothing else.

I worked at Jetpets full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Seeing some of the lovely pets at the transit lounge. Everyone that worked at Jetpets was really nice, some absolute gems that were lovely and nice employees to work with. All staff were really helpful and caring. Taking your own pet to work once per month.

    Cons

Management were nice but very ignorant of unsustainably high work loads and structural problems within the company. They turned a blind eye to this and didn’t want to make any improvements, rather their way or the high way. Even at one stage they acknowledged to the team an issue with the way things were operating but still nothing changed. The pay was decent but wasn’t worth the enormous stress and workload we would face everyday. Sick days were so high because a lot of staff didn’t want to face over 100 emails as they walked into work while also being in call que for the call centre and having angry customers (some rightfully angry and others just ball busting) on top of all the important administration work that had strict deadlines everyday. Also commissions were much lower than I had hoped. Very hard to reach targets unless you worked through your lunch break/stayed back/came in early to do work.

I worked at Jetpets full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Furbaby and Casual Fridays Uniform provided Learn new Australian destinations and airline codes

    Cons

Others have summed it up nicely but here is mine, FAVORITISM!! at it's finest You're lied to throughout the whole working process from the job application to your "probation" end. (where they'll still dismiss you after this period) Not a customer service based role sales driven only (all about making the most profit) Sales isn't mentioned in the job application once. Customer complaints are swept under the rug and often left up to the consultant to deal with on their own (added stress). Team Leaders are useless for any help and often rude in reply. (You are made to look like an idiot for asking questions) Pet welfare also occasionally swept under the rug. Thrown in the deep end and on the phones far too early after only 2 weeks. Not enough training to prepare you for what's to come. You'll need to learn how to transport small animals, birds ,reptiles on your own (no help/training is given what so ever) which makes you look like an idiot to clients. Working overtime (forget it they won't pay you) Sales targets are impossible to reach 180-207 (per month depending on the season) The calls never stop and must be on top of your emails/admin by end of shift Extremely stressfull over Christmas/Easter and not allowed any time off. Backyard breeders are definitely being endorsed by Jetpets and get VIP discounts galore. Some consultants have more than a few breeders (makes this unfair playing field for other consultants) Keeping up with constant web inquiries as well as incoming calls are near impossible and they know this! Your request to learn a new area within the business will be ignored unless you're a "favorite" It will drive you into depression and cause serious health anxiety ( team leaders/ management don't care) High staff turnover for all the above reasons and many more STAY AWAY!

I worked at Jetpets full-time for more than a year

    Pros

No experience or qualifications needed to do roles such as HR/Finance/Marketing... they will train you if you are suitable (this is solely based on mate ship) You can bring your pets to work Uniforms provided

    Cons

There is no prospect of advancement within unless you There is no commission to be made at all, even though its advertised as a sale role uncapped. The role is sales, booking, complaints, admin, web inquiries.. all this plus more. Supervisors are unhelpful and i found them rude. They are not interested in dealing with complaints, this is left to staff. unpaid overtime is quite common. Staff turnover expediently high and staff have been told they can leave if not happy. Staff have been told they are all replaceable. There is no staff loyalty. Pretty much the same as previous posted reviews.

I have been working at Jetpets full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I have been working with the company for a number of years now and have worked in several departments. Sandy the owner makes a real effort to know everyone and has a personal connection with all staff. There are constant opportunities for staff to be up-skilled and they are big on transferable skills. The industry can be tricky at times with constant change and lots of variation but having support staff to provide updates and proper coaching through some of these changes is a big help. The company understands they are not just assisting with pets but a family members and it is very rewarding to hear from clients once their pets have arrived safe and sound and all settled in. On Fridays we have 'Furbaby Friday's' where we are allowed to bring our pets into the office on a rotating roster which makes it a happy place to work and by this you get to interact with other staff from different departments. Lots of fun on the office and sales incentives.

    Cons

During peak season it can be very busy with the number of calls received in all departments. In the past have sometimes felt that the company has been understaffed but the last few years have felt they are more prepared and have a higher headcount.

I worked at Jetpets full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Hold activities to try and make it a fun work environment e.g Halloween dress up, pets visit the office on Fridays, Aus Day BBQ etc. -Uniform makes it easy to dress for work (Fridays are casual however).

    Cons

-targets set so commission is almost impossible to achieve and their value has diminished over time as well. -some procedures are frustratingly convoluted and leave staff micro-managed yet they still don't get improved after much feedback from staff. -no career progression really -constantly stressful as the incoming calls don't stop but emails and admin must be kept on top of. Any overtime done to catch up on emails is unpaid as it's seen as "poor time management" even though the shift physically does not leave time for all duties. -past history of management not stepping in and taken over during legitimate escalations on occasion which makes it both disappointing and difficult for team members. -meagre salary -team members have misquotes/errors deducted from their commission -have to work with an awfully slow antiquated computer booking system
