Pros

I did make some nice friendships. Great offices

Cons

I was part of the 20% of the business that was laid off due to COVID19... If you don’t drink alcohol there are very little benefits in this business. Free beer doesn’t make up for lack of managerial support, career progression, work flexibility or any kind of employee benefits. The most disturbing thing about working at JobAdder is that so many people ‘disappear’ without any warning. Probation periods mean nothing. My experience is that everyone constantly feels as if they are walking on eggshells.

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review - the decision to make changes as a direct result of COVID-19 was not taken lightly and a very challenging time for everyone involved - especially those staff where their roles were no longer required. All the best and I am glad you made some friends during your time with us.

Pros

The CEO and the other co-founders have a great vision Lots of events and happening culture , team looks energetic from outside Fast moving Teams , team members are high performers Great Office Locations and Flexibility One of the best products in the market in its category

Cons

Micromanagement by middle level managers . Supervisor can be bossy and try to showcase that they've been there for longer than you. Not focusing on the process efficiency as long as you can pump out more work by working anyhow and checking more boxes. Don't care even if you leave, the middle management is quite causal about people leaving jobs. If you speak up about something and the Team Leader doesn't like it you may get in trouble/lose the job anytime irrespective of the merit of your argument.

Thank you for your feedback and your contribution during your time at JobAdder. I can assure you that middle and senior management care deeply about our people and the recent changes as a result of COVID-19 were extremely difficult but necessary. We wish you all the best for the next step in your career.

Pros

Good location. I need to add 5 words so adding in this other sentence otherwise... that's it really, location.

Cons

Distinct difference in treatment of people with different cultural backgrounds. Poor 'HR' team. Poor product management and leadership. Leadership team also has extremely poor communication with development, treating developers like second rate workers, (yet they try to sell themselves as a tech company.) The lack of vision stands out the most.

JobAdder is extremely proud of our culture which includes our inclusiveness - we are naturally extremely diverse and value all of our staff, especially our Engineering team! (Low single digit voluntary turnover speaks for itself.) The recent staff changes as a result of COVID-19 were extremely difficult but necessary - I hope you find a new role you enjoy.
