Doing Good Works for Chicago's Children

Pros

Great mission--to help poor/underserved children affected by trauma. Thoughtful leadership. Compassionate therapists. Always looking to provide more or adapted services.

Cons

Unclear long-term strategy for growth. Some unnecessary hierarchy in a very small office impedes good flow of ideas and imposes unnecessary restraints and access to management. Good work not recognized often enough. Not enough effort to create collaboration among non-therapist staff.

Pros

The mission and services provided are extremely important to the community. The social workers are very passionate and committed to their work.

Cons

Management did not appear to always be on the same page regarding current projects, upcoming events, and overall goals of the organization.
