Talented Developers: The developers at Klang Games, especially at the ground level, are generally talented, passionate, and great to work with. The collaborative atmosphere among them adds value to the working experience. Inclusive Culture: The studio actively fosters a welcoming and inclusive culture, making it a positive environment for employees. Modern Office Facilities: The office space at Klang Games is modern and well-equipped, providing excellent facilities for employees. Flexible Hybrid Culture: The company operates on a flexible hybrid culture, allowing employees freedom in managing their time without overbearing time management constraints. Opportunities for Growth: Klang Games provides many opportunities for employees to advance in their careers, offering chances to take on additional roles and responsibilities.

Cons

Inexperienced and Naive Founders: The founders of Klang Games have shown a lack of experience and naivety in their decision-making. They often chase current trends without a clear strategy, and have repeatedly shown a lack of ability to translate their vision into a workable design, leading to repeated restarts of the game design process. Cutthroat Executive Leadership: The executive leadership, chosen by the founders, has been ruthless in its approach, suppressing wages using debunked and baseless right-wing economic talking points, and firing well-respected and high performing employees without adequate justification. Ineffective CEO: Despite being personable and well meaning, the CEO's ineffectiveness has prompted the hiring of a Co-CEO who now effectively runs the company. Questionable Restructuring Decisions: The company's decision to fire a well-respected QA team under the guise of restructuring, followed by opening positions in countries with lower wages, raises ethical concerns. Employee Dissatisfaction and High Turnover: The company's chaotic inner workings have become widely known, leading to employee dissatisfaction and high turnover. Klang Games is struggling to attract experienced and competent new hires.

I am very happy to see that all the work that we do in providing an environment that facilitates growth and career development for each Klanger resonates positively with you. It is amazing to see that you have grown with us for 4 years. There are aspects in your feedback we would like to understand better. Specifically your references to leadership behavior and communication of our ambitious vision. Pros

Can't really think of any right now.

Cons

-The company has shifted its focus away from employee well-being, often treating team members more like numbers than individuals. -The nurturing and supportive culture that once defined the company has diminished over time. -There's a sense that the management has lost touch with what made the company great in the first place. -The turnover rate has been exceptionally high, which raises concerns about job security and employee satisfaction.

Pros

- Most workers are nice and very talented. - Ok salaries (for Berlin) - Ambitious project

Cons

- The management is not experienced enough and keeps making bad and rushed decisions that make little sense. They then blame employees when there is a consequence to that decision. - Extreme turnover as a result, and lack of managers and directors. - The project is extremely painful to work on, as there is a lot of pressure to go fast, without enough people. - The company is not safe for women. - Very dangerous for employees' mental health: a lot of people are in burnout, and a lot of former employees left because of it already - They fired the whole QA department in October, blamed it on them being too junior even though they did a great job.

Thank you for your feedback. I am aware that you describe a variety of aspects of your individual experience at Klang. However, there is one aspect that deeply concerns me. We have a zero tolerance policy for any behaviors that make Klangers feel unsafe. We have multiple channels through which any code of conduct violation can be reported - directly with any people managers that you feel comfortable confiding in and also multiple anonymous channels. If anyone you know at Klang needs support, please tell them about the different ways to receive them. Every Klanger has access to the Employee Assistance Programme that provides legal support and psychological counseling from trained professionals - completely confidential and offered from an external provider. Any member of our leadership team as well as I personally are also available for confidential conversations. All Klangers should feel safe at work. Even though our very recent engagement survey shows that Klang is a very safe and inclusive place to work, we will take action based on your review. We will ask our people managers to reassure all their Klangers are aware of the (external and internal) support systems in place as well as the anonymous feedback channels. We will also initiate additional investigations and measures that foster awareness at Klang. If possible in any way I would like to ask for your support. If you (have) become aware of any specific situation in which a Klanger may not feel safe, please encourage them to confide in any member of our leadership team or me directly or to make use of our anonymous feedback channels.
