- Poor & expensive health insurance options since LabCorp
- Amount of PTO is great - start with 21 days of PTO, gaining additional days starting with your 3rd year (though unclear on whether it will stay great). But can you ever take time off? Under-staffed so it is a giant production to coordinate any time off. Employees are discouraged from actually disconnecting - most people log in at least once per day while they are taking PTO (and at least half of my department routinely works on the weekends)
- Project management is a disaster - Covance PMs think of themselves as "fire fighters", but they are actually arsonists. Project projections are seemingly pulled out of the air, with no basis in reality. Extremely poor communication within a project team & everything is left until the last minute. Staff in my department know that we will get things prioritized as either “urgent” or “super-urgent.” Staff are constantly stressed & are harassed into rushing through work. Then they are berated for making mistakes. The PMs pay no attention to project budget. In 5 years, every single one of the projects I worked on (& I worked on A LOT of projects) was over budget- some of them wildly over budget
- While experienced staff are overloaded with project work, they are also expected to mentor & train new staff. Staff managers take little to no responsibility for training new staff
- Company is trying to invest in better IT systems, but success has been….limited at best. Now we have redundant systems that we need to populate with the same information, causing extra time spend
