Toxic work culture, constantly moving goalposts. CEO cares more about harassing employees than accomplishing his stated goal. CEO literally berated and abused me at work and the response from my manager the next day was there’s nothing I can do to protect you anymore because I have to protect myself. There is no HR at this company and leadership has been steadily leaving in the last year to avoid the negative association with a startup that is being mismanaged into the ground.

All issues here trickled from the top down. The CEO has a major ego problem that affects professional and personal boundaries. He regularly fired engineer experts who expressed professional concern, took substances with staff and asked to go out, had assistants clean up after his dog and plants, and regularly demeaned anyone he disagreed with. The rest of the staff then suffered under this power dynamic, especially when loyalty and "fun" were rewarded over hard work and ethics. No HR function exists.
