Too quiet, no corporate vision, too much backstabbing. You have factions from North America, Europe and Asia all working against each other. The Europeans being by far the most ruthless.

The organization is run poorly. I don't say this as a disgruntled former employee, the truth is they have no goals other than survival. The organizational structure is a mess, with Europeans and Japanese trying to run the organization with minimal alignment, different philosophies. The European team is focused on having enough to afford lavish dinners and free flowing alcoholic beverages while the Japanese team looks at numbers and never takes their heads out of the sand. They are a company servicing industries on decline and competing with companies that are vertically integrated. Poor leadership, shrinking market, non-competitive due to lack of vertical integration almost assures Lawter's demise!
