      Don’t Trust Anybody

      Pros

      You get to work with hands on experience and are working directly for NOAA.

      Cons

      As an affiliate for the federal government, they make it known and remind you everyday that you are not at the level that federal employees are at and all federal employees have full control over what you do for your job and/or if you get to keep your job even when they don’t work directly for the company you work under. You can have one frustrating conversation with a cohort and you can question whether or not you’ll have a job the next day. Watch your back, do your job, don’t make friends, and don’t trust anybody.

      Lynker works hard to meet our employees needs and expectations. Our total compensation approach tries to provide the highest financial and fringe we can to our employees, while also addressing the limitations of working within Federal contracting.

      Ability to move to other positions within the conpany

      Cons

      Pay is well below what other contract companies are paying or have paid for contracts they take on. Payroll/HR changes work status and at a minimum has messed up pay 1 to 5 times a year often filing taxes in the wrong state! This was a good company to work for a few years ago but over the past 2 years it's clear they care about profits over employees.
