Don't work here, unless this is all you can get.

Pros

The people on the floor, for the most part, are great. Friendly and welcoming. Most everyone wants to help.

Cons

Management refuses to compensate good leadership and expertise even when it's right in front of them. The management would rather ride you til you quit, then offer more money. The management can't be bothered to correct a situation until it blows up, figuratively and literally, a couple times. The floor management takes every little thing personal then retaliates with more ridiculous stipulations and rules. After that, higher management backs them up moments later with the purchase of lower managements sing song stories laden with horse manure. Furthermore, the assembly floor chain of command is so blurred by false titles and lack of leadership that parts are assembled and reassembled up to 3 times. And even then, even if the prints are correct, it will still be wrong for any number of reasons. The old addage of management smiling while they stick a knife in your belly isn't real here. They'll use a spoon instead.

The Web - Now providing unhappy/disgruntled people a one sided anonymous soapbox for perpetuity! Everyone knows that life is what we individually make of it so if you are not happy in your current situation then you should seek a different situation. I hope this person finds happiness.

Pros

All insurance was paid for me and my family. Work was diverse and interesting. This company (not employees) has a lot of potential under the right leadership. The existing everyday leader is a good salesman. However, his acumen for growing and sustaining a successful business is seriously lacking.

Cons

Frustrating. Owner(s) (main owner may not know) did not want to listen to engineering advice regarding safety matters nor matters of cost savings. Offered up one component (one cost $70 and found better replacement for $18) replacement to save $40,000 a year and told that was not enough to worry about. Had to buy my own writing utencils and paper. Was told relocation expenses would be reimbursed. I was only given $300 of the total moving expenses (used a u-haul and moved myself, glad I did) of $800. Many safety hazards in produced equipment and no desire to improve them. No ventilation in shop except for open doors. OSHA monitoring equipment worked around by opening doors. Extensive welding and plasma cutting occurring and can taste it in your mouth after being in shop for a couple of minutes. "Electrical Engineer" didn't know ohms law and misinformed customers on troubleshooting techniques due to his basic lack of electricity. Too many cons to list. Do yourself a favor if you have worked as a real mechanical or electrical engineer, stay away until the President steps down.
