I have been working at MYOB full-time

    Pros

Motivated team of leaders who know what they're doing and have the drive and determination to succeed. An empathetic workplace that understands work life balance with leaders who genuinely care.

    Cons

Change has been unsettling but inevitable with new leadership.

    I worked at MYOB full-time

    Pros

Flexible work time and good work and life balance (not sure if it's there any more.) Some smart and hard working first line staff (not sure how many would stay).

    Cons

The company culture Tim Reed left to MYOB had been destroyed. It took MYOB about 10 years to transition the culture and about 9 months to drop it / change back. The new top management were experienced in technology outsourcing and e-commerce. You bet they know how to manage a professional software solution company. They have demonstrated their expertise by cutting off people, which happens a lot in outsource company as headcounts are just numbers there.

"Shadow of its former self, people are merely resources that can be replaced."

I worked at MYOB full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    * The people on the ground are extremely intelligent and great to work with. * Most team environments enable a very flexible work culture. * Most leaders (in the Technology vertical) ensure that all of their team members take a break regularly and utilise their vacation time. * There are some strong communities of practice (in the Technology vertical) that encourage sharing knowledge and also tend to help each other grow - all driven through the members within the communities.

    Cons

    * A lot of the problems with delivery in MYOB arises from the inefficacies of its product team. The product team in most verticals have no clear product vision nor do the goals of the different verticals align. Delivery teams are expected to work together and produce stellar results without alignment, a bulk of which gets lost in the politics of it all. * Through the tech re-org that happened recently, how the new delivery managers were "chosen" to stay has been opaque i.e there was no clarity on how feedback was gathered and how individuals were assessed especially when the management layer that "chose/decided" had no clue or feedback about individuals. * Another inefficacy that was exposed through the tech re-org was how unprepared the HR team was with handling the severance activities - employees (who were let go) had to followup to finalise their last dates, multiple followups post their last date for payment and employment letters.

I have been working at MYOB full-time

    Pros

    - Good culture - Good teams and lots of experienced and talented people to work with and learn from

    Cons

    - Recent restructuring leaves teams in a bit of a weird state, probably needs more time for things to settle down

I have been working at MYOB full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Team lunches and dinners , Hack Days, annual conferences , work from home , parental leave benefit.

    Cons

The market has changed and MYOB are trying to play catchup to the likes of Xero, Sage and Reckon. Lots of new players but we are still resting on our past glory. Team members are unsettled and there is no job security. General consensus is that the leadership team in Practice and SME vertical is rubbish and should take ownership that they have failed and this group replaces by a fresh team.

I have been working at MYOB full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people you work with are great

    Cons

The leadership and their ability to make decisions is terrible. They have been restructuring ever since the new CEO arrived, but no amount of restructuring can hide the incompetence of upper/senior management.

I have been working at MYOB full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

MYOB used to be a fantastic place to work. It had great people, a fantastic work culture that had great leaders, and everyone used to be able to work on their personal development, do tribe lunches, and hackdays etc.

    Cons

Developers have busted their balls to get the New Essentials into the Market, but then the executive team had the nerve to sack a whole bunch of people and say it was 'absolutely necessary' and that the new Operating Model will be alot more effective rather than tell the truth that KKR are ruthless and halved our IT budget. The company will have a mass exodus after COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Good developers are hard to find and they have all gone onto better companies.

I have been working at MYOB full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Work life balance is good. Flexible culture.

    Cons

Recently we have hired quite a lot incompetent developers. Some persons who cannot even find any job in QLD for many years, they have been somehow hired as principal roles in our company. It turns out these newly hired persons are absolutely clueless about even very basic industry technologies nowadays. What they are good at is talking kinds of nonsense everyday. Incompetent hiring practices have made people here feel frustrated and sick. I believe this will eventually ruin the company.
