Pros

Income potential and qualified leads.

Cons

There were so many red flags right from the start. First, there was a delay in training. It took six weeks from the original start date to when I started training. The discrepancy in the offer letters and the financial loss I incurred due to their disorganized operations significantly impacted my life. It is disappointing to see a company of this stature operate in such a chaotic and unprofessional manner. I hope that this review will serve as a catalyst for positive change within the company. The owner does not represent the company well; I highly recommend that he stay away from your new hires unless you are hiring racist, sexist candidates who will tolerate and agree with his behaviour. I recommend a strong HR and review workplace discrimination and harassment policies. This is a law in Ontario. It is mind-boggling that he thinks it is acceptable to speak the way he does. This is a serious matter that I don’t agree with or want to be part of. The trainer told me that this is just the type of behaviour that I would see in this industry. I need to have thick skin and not let this behaviour affect me. I was out of work for six weeks because this company was moving the start date week after week. We agreed to a two-week compensation. I did not receive any compensation week after week of working with them. After reminding them daily, they finally gave me one week of pay and said they would consider a bonus once I was out in the field and proved how much I wanted to work for this company. They minimized me not receiving the total compensation and having no income for six weeks as if it were unimportant, and they said that I was lucky to have a husband with income. Excuse me? This does not make this situation acceptable. That is disrespectful and undignified. I know that this company does not accurately reflect how this industry operates and how people are treated in this industry. I have family members who work in this industry, and I have spoken to them about these issues, and they have told me this is not the norm.

Pros

Only a very little handful of people, most of them in the Marketing department, were a pleasure to work with.

Cons

-Expectations of working full time from the office when you are provided no personal office space to work in, or any internet/wifi to perform simple daily tasks that are a requirement for the position. This in turn made it extremely difficult to fulfil your job tasks as every corner that you attempted to find in the building, would get you kicked out for multiple reasons (birthday celebrations, clients coming in, etc.) - The owner is extremely racist and sexist, making comments to women such as "You're Iranian? You MIGHT be good at this job since you guys are fighting for your country right now", and not being afraid to have it be known that he simply prefers men for his sales reps team - Constantly needing to chase the direct manager for follow ups, etc; being stood up for your 1:1 meetings without any apologies or explanations, no advance notices - Implementing unrealistic expectations on HR- providing a staffing need and expecting multiple hires to take place in 2 days time; inviting over 30 candidates to interview for the same role and only hiring 2 of them over the course of 3 months. Reasons for not making more hires: this person is not young enough, this person has a family so may not be able to commit to working 7 days a week. - 2 weeks of paid vacation ONLY in December when the office closes down for the holidays. Otherwise, any other approved day off is unpaid for the remainder of the year - Benefits only kick in after 6 months of employment (not standard for HR industry) - Not getting paid on your last day of work, even though you worked a full day

Pros

It reveals the reality of life.

Cons

You ride in a van with 8 other guys. One is the “boss”. They practice witchcraft on everyone in the van the whole time. Basically the guy that is second to the boss is a gay dude and they make you respect him and try to make you wear pink and prefer dudes that act effeminate as a tactic of setting an appointment. They have guys that are more pushy as well that ride in another van that are pretty cool… but the van they put me in had all the lower reps consisting of younger people on that woman spectrum and gay acting dudes. What you’ll find with this job is that you need to either act like you’re a contractor or act girly. Either put some dirt on your shirt and act like you’re the one doing the job that you are bidding and are low in status in a blue collar way… or act effeminate. The last thing the homeowner wants is an alpha male Coming to the door because it disturbs the natural order of what’s going on in the home and the police often get called. You can’t “close” on a doorstep like you can in a home. You have to either kiss their butt or act low as in blue collar. But this job will make you think low on the psychological spectrum. Are you an 18 year old baby face that can close like a man? This canvassing job is for you because clients will allow someone that is real Young to be pushy without thinking about it. It doesn’t psychosexual mess with the client when a really young person gets pushy. When someone their age and with close attraction gets pushy at the door… people scream … cops called. If you’re 30-50 you will find yourself having to kiss a lot of butt for an appointment. If you are able to be pushy at the door and have age than it’s because you are a manager and have worked there for 10 years and can talk talk talk talk about the company. It’s a turn burn… because you either sell or their witchcraft will make you quit. If you aren’t setting appointments than everyone in the van will pick on anything they can about you. They think this pushes you to succeed/change or quit. This is how they can pay a “ salary” … which isn’t even a salary really. This place won’t let you get comfortable… it’s a toxic environment where they have been practicing magic on eachother for so long that when they get a new person their fangs all come out. You better eat Arby’s like them, you better get down with whatever these people do in the van or they’ll act crazy. They’ll smoke cigarettes and blow them in your face if they don’t like you. Twice I have worked for them and both times they weren’t allowed to smoke cigarettes in the van until I started working there. They keep their vans covered with trash and especially fast food papers… children’s car seats are a norm in the van as the manager will tell you that it’s because he transports his children when off duty but actually it is their incessant attempts to make you feel like a child an make you have a “vision”. The witchcraft that they use is know to cause skitzophrenia, paranoid reactions.. etc. If you have had any mental Illnesses in the past or if you don’t understand witchcraft I don’t reccomend the position as you will be confused when they all attempt to treat you like crap/haze you. Every dude in the van is going to try to hurt you psychologically in a way that makes you walk talk and act more like they do. This place has demons. Not to mention it is a real old brand with a horrible marketing reputation. Good product but known for the knock knock. The clients all know who they are and they get chased out a lot. I’d consider renaming if I were them .
