PTSD, belittlement, and arrogance all around

Pros

- The views are nice - Coworkers are friendly - You'll get meaningless job title promotions quickly, so I guess it's an okay place to use to pad your resume (if you can tolerate it long enough)

Cons

- It took a few years due to the PTSD to even write this review - The CEO likes to brag about how much money the company (he) made by having it constantly displayed on the TVs in the office, but specifically asks employees to change those screens whenever a guest comes in to talk with anyone (shady) - The CEO is comically horrible, like every attribute that makes a bad leader is expressed in him from loud outbursts to public belittlement - The management (at the time) always had a defeated look on their faces because they were kissing up to the CEO constantly - Possibly the worst career experience in my life - You will get treated like a replaceable part in a machine, and rewarded like a puppy - The CEO is horrible at expressing his vision and takes it out on his employees whenever a product is delivered that doesn't match - The CEO makes you pump up their products on your own social media channels, and I sincerely believe he is making the employees write positive reviews about MarketScale on Glassdoor. - Severe micromanagement throughout the office - You have to pay for your own parking - A good day is when you don't get yelled at

High Turnover Rate, Toxic Environment

Pros

Very smart and talented employees. Great benefits. Go-home early on Fridays.

Cons

You have to pay for your own parking. Calculated tardiness to the minute (we are adults... if the work gets done, it shouldn't bother you if we are one minute late. Especially when we stay hours after work each week). Extremely high employee turnover rate. No bonuses. Manipulated by promised salary increases that never end up happening. Job title Promotions without salary raises. Forced to take lunch at 11am. Are allowed too leave at 4:30pm but everyone else stays so it's almost like you really aren't allowed to leave. Are taught "quantity over quality," because that's what "brings in more money." Very high-pressure work environment. If something goes wrong it's like it's the end of the world - you'll definitely be making up for it by staying late that night and the next few nights. No HR department (has an employee do it that already has other work to be doing). A lot of gossip between the managers and higher-ups. Nothing to look forward to when it comes to moving up in the company because of false promises and no salary increase.

Pros

The ceo and managers have a genuine skill for deceiving people into thinking this place is ok despite its reputation, and that means they are able to hire a lot of great talented people there. The team I worked with are some of the best people I’ve ever met and they made all the suffering tolerable for longer than I thought possible.

Cons

The ceo is authentic (authentically crazy). Which is a lot of fun to observe, but also does manifest 99% of the time into people being aggressively yelled at or manipulated. He’s also adept at finding managers with little to no character that will excuse his angry, cult leader behavior just cause they make enough money. I’d love to mention more cons, but it’s pretty impossible to not just endlessly rant about the ceo considering the company is really just him and managers who tolerate his struggling emotional state. This is essentially a corporate play place for someone with (presumably) intense father issues and a possible fluttering mental health crisis. (Which I hope he seeks help for)
