Pros

Work-life balance --- work is relatively easy. I still get challgened, but I very rarely do overtime so i have ample time to devote to my MBA Line managers & co-workers -- i am lucky enough to have very good and competent work colleagues that I can rely on (though this is more a function of our department, and unfortunately the same cant be said about the rest of the company) Free & ample parking -- a much appreciated benefit! Not all companies can claim this! And if you commute, they have employee shuttle buses that reach upto Bulacan and Cavite Bonuses -- salary varies (depending on your tenure/scope of work), but bonuses are almost always guaranteed and pretty generous. In my past 4 years I've been guaranteed at least 18 months (there is a con to this however....)

Cons

Executives -- so much lip service. They claim to want to be innovative and to be customer-centric, but everything they do is still to please shareholders and regulators (the customer benefit is more like a by-product). Special mention to the CEO-- I guess since he was primarily a CFO in his previous companies, he is too much focused on the bottom-line. I think any decent CEO has to make sure that the company is not in the red, but if you are willing to cut the budget of your programs so you can protect the bonuses of your executives, then that is crossing the line. The bonuses are a REWARD for our hard work, and should is not a reward for protecting our OPEX HR -- I see no effort to improve company culture. They try so hard to make the place "millennial-friendly" (eg. introducing FB chat, fitness classes, etc) but it's all FRIVOLOUS. Any lasting change is rooted in company culture and at its core, Meralco culture has not changed. It's very hierarchical (there was a cascade of company plans that was shared to just executives, and NOT shared to the rest of the rank & file employees. Are these people not key to your goals as well?)--- executive offices are understandable, but separate bathrooms? canteens? parking? elevator? gym? Tsk tsk tsk
