Pros

The hiring process was quick. They attempt to formally train you. If you are in a position to need lots of overtime pay, they have plenty of OT available.

Cons

If you are a person who dislikes being treated with disrespect by your coworkers/superiors, being forced to work inconvenient schedules with no notice, having your lunchtime cut in half with no notice, being told conflicting information, being micromanaged, being pushed beyond your limits of sanity, being forced to take back to back calls for 3+ hours at a time, having EVERY and I mean EVERY thing you do/say recorded and scrutinized by multiple people in management at multiple levels of the organization, having no control over your workflow/work assignments/where you work, being a Student Loan Counselor is not for you. Fair warning: everything on your work computer is controlled by a team called "The Tower" and everything you do is seen and recorded by multiple people at all times. You have no control over any of your day here.

Pros

During end of quarter there will be overtime incentives but it comes with a lot of stress and expectations of you working 12+ hours

Cons

A lot of micromanaging, they only promote and keep who they like. Criticism is very unprofessional and people will talk to you any way and when you have meetings with upper management will be very aggressive. Things constantly change and most people only work there an average of 2-3 yrs at most, very high turnover due to long hours, short breaks and lunch, and rude management.

Feeling of constant fear

Pros

Tuition reimbursement, pay is not bad, actual training is provided.

Cons

I just started training here and could not regret it more. Its the most unprofessional environment I've ever worked in. We are watched like hawks in training, and are told it gets worse after training. Like our bathroom trips are timed, can’t take emergency family phone calls, and everyone is afraid everyday that someone is going to get harassed or fired for anything. Employees are encouraged to pursue more education, but required to miss classes because they force you to work overtime (10 hours per week mandatory). One employee told us that a senior management person chased them down on their break and made them come back to work to take calls. The CEO verbally insults people in the company, and he doesn't do it privately, he does it publically in email or face to face in front of others. I received a copy of one of these cruel emails forcing an employee to do a public apology that went out before I started. I made copies for people in training, but left them on the copy machine. The copies are gone now, and the person who gave it to me is terrified for their job and won’t give me another copy. He has actually taken his personal belongings home because he knows the CEO will fire him for just speaking about it. The CEO tracks emails that he sends out and who forwards them and then berates anyone who does. If he's ashamed of them, maybe he shouldn't send them in the first place. CEO stole 25 trashcans from employee desks because they were out of place, he verbally attacked an employee in front of everyone for stopping to get a coffee from mcdonalds, publically accused an employee of hiding in the bathroom wasting time when she had a feminine issue. He publically berated an employee for using the company instant message and forced her to do a public apology. His actions are humiliating and are incredibly distracting from job focus. At least 7 people in my class are applying other places to get out already.
