          No Opinion of CEO

I have been working at Monash University part-time for more than 5 years

          Pros

Excellent culture in general with some of the best employee benefits in the country, including generous maternity leave. Flexible and supportive work environment; great people who are passionate about what they do. Supportive of work-from-home arrangements.

          Cons

Resource constrained and can be very demanding with little recognition of the long-term effects of overload. Increasingly hierarchical in recent years, which sadly is beginning to chip away at a previously flat and efficient structure.

          Advice to Management

Reduce management hierarchies throughout the university and resource areas properly - or reassess outcomes you expect. In particular, pay attention to how overworked academic staff are and address unreasonable expectations.

I worked at Monash University full-time for more than a year

          Pros

Monash is an environment where a lot of money is being invested to deliver the very best in education and research. In the IT space, they have invested virtually in pretty much all tools and technologies available. This is pro if you truly want to work in an tech environment that is rich with technologies. Equally, the staff is very well educated and knowledgeable in their respective fields which is great as you...

          Cons

Being such a large organisation, there are a lot of employees and a lot of tech which can fill up your plate rather very quickly. Also, the work done may not be as appreciated as in other places as there so much happening. Also, the amount of tech can become difficult to manage and preferences change from team to team.
