Pros

Stable organization with solid values, clear processes, and generally respectful teams. Offers good benefits and predictable work-life balance in most departments.

Cons

Since 2023, the company has been undergoing a major restructuring that resulted in significant layoffs, including many senior and specialized roles. Hierarchies have been flattened, giving teams more autonomy but also heavier workloads and limited opportunities for advancement. The structure remains traditional, innovation can be slow and decision-making layered. The marketing department has shifted from an in-house agency model to a more internal production unit, reducing creative scope and experimentation. Additionally, the performance evaluation system is not consistently respected and often feels mechanical or ambiguous. Mental health and employee well-being are not top priorities, and several valuable professionals have been let go in ways that seemed unfair or disconnected from performance.

Pros

Good Benefit, close to Subway

Cons

I’m working at Moneris as an inside sales, the work evolvement is very stressful and I have no rights to make any suggestions if I do I’m being negative and maybe let go. When I needed help the managers are in meeting or socializing and if we leave our desk for a few minutes they will be asking why we were away, they have advised us not to take breaks, holidays, or any time off. We most work overtime everyday to reach the unachievable target that the company set I feel like I’m prison when I’m at work. When I’m on the phone with a Merchant if I didn’t to ask the questions the way how they would phase it, I will be call by management immediately that they want to speak with me about my last phone call and the score I received. They only point out the negative and not the positive on every phone call. I feel like I’m in Kindergarten again. The management is incompetent; they run this company like a dictator, unprofessional and does not know this industry and treat us like slaves. This kind of management does not motivate staff. Please do not work for this company, it’s not worth it and the salary is not great and target is set too high so therefore the commission will be low.

Thank-you for your feedback. At Moneris, the employee experience is very important to us. All team members are expected to take breaks, and use all of their accrued vacation time. We encourage you to speak to your manager, or more senior leaders within the Sales area, to share your feedback and concerns. Alternatively, you may contact the Human Resources Department. Thank-you, Talent Acquisition

Pros

No pros to consider or anything positive that can be thought of

Cons

This company is struggling to compete in every way possible and they have done nothing significant to improve things. A complete trainwreck from all levels of the company. And that is one of the major issues as to why this company is failing. There are too many inept employees unable to communicate or work together due to politics and self involved careerists. It becomes a struggle to get something done even for a small client. From a technological stand point which this company prides on apparently being, technology products and services are very inadequate prompting a lot of merchant complaints and irate feedback. Even on site techs have made complaints due to the fact that all the terminal equipment are refurbished. Email was sent from management to confirm this too. No development or salary increases in the years I have been there. Cost of living has gone up. This job does not provide any real means to survive. And worst of all, dealing with team leaders and managers was a severe pain and lowered morale. In the contact centre level I worked at, I would say 80% of the time, team leaders were nowhere to be found and of the remaining 20% of the time when they were available, they did not provide any support or real help especially when call levels were spiking or declined to take any customer escalations. This was due to the fact, that team leaders spent most of their time in their meetings with each other, drinking across the street, inexplicably working from home, or they had taken extended long weekends. Employees are overworked, undervalued, and ostracized from the company culture here. This is also evident in that they have resorted to hiring staff from third party job placement agencies as a to way to conserve costs and dispose the workforce whenever they desire.
