Morale slipping!

Pros

Solid group of tenured employees with a recent influx of new talent. Good benefits package and discount program. Casual work environment.

Cons

Fluctuating schedules make it hard to plan for life outside of work. Unresponsive upper management to issues that have been brought to their attention, No follow through on vacation/schedule requested. Pay is no longer commensurate with the local economy. How can we be "the guys that ride" with fluctuating schedule and Saturday and Sunday workdays?

Good for those starting out their careers

Pros

Motosport is a great place for people starting out their careers: 1) You can get really good exposure to an e-commerce firm's operations. Because it's a smaller subsidiary, it's possible to work closely with people in different departments and broaden your skillset. If you find something that interests you, you can likely get involved. 2) On the other hand, since it's ultimately owned by a much larger company, you have access to much better benefits that can no longer be matched by really small companies.

Cons

Motosport seems to have limited opportunities for growth and promotion. This is the biggest surprise about the company, considering that it has grown so rapidly over the years. *I got the perception that it was important to always "appear busy" rather be busy doing meaningful things that moved the business forward. *As the years went by, I watched people always running around like chickens with their heads cut off, but never really going anywhere. I wondered if people were being directed to do meaningless work. *Regarding the limited opportunities seen here: I have since realized that this might be common to mid-size firms around the Portland market....I have worked other firms and seen the exact same thing. My final advice: Get a couple years of experience at Motosport, and get a pay raise when you move elsewhere. DO NOT STAY TOO LONG.

Good Place To Work But Has The Potential To Be Better!

Pros

Decent benefits. Good friendships built within teams. Good Work/Life Balance. Okay employee discount. Ride days are nice. You get to work around people who love motorcycles!

Cons

Like mentioned in a previous review, company morale from time to time can be a little low. Seems to stem from pay (could be a little better) and little recognition from some but not all of the management. The contact center is micromanaged. Things move a little slower since merging with BC. There are opportunities for growth within, but it is rare.
