Pros

Only work 2 weekends a month, sometimes no weekends at all. Don't get off to late, 6pm is the latest shift. 401K Match up to 5% Paid leave/sick time You get your own cubicle so you can decorate your desk if u choose to. Plus I don't like having people over top of me. Complimentary lunches from time to time

Cons

Management sucks. Don't want to go into great details because I don't know if this site is really anonymous. But please heed the warning. You will be walking into a toxic environment. Which will outweigh all the so called perks of the job. This job will suck away your mojo & eat away at your confidence if you don't recognize it early on & learn to manage the people & environment so it doesn't effect you mentally. This job will not be over when you leave for the day it will go home with you. You might have some sleepless nights or feel worried or anxious all the time. Again you have to be mentally strong to make it work for you. I would say work here to build your resume for at least 1 or 2 years and then find something else. Not a long term company. I was there 3 years and I should have trusted my gut and left after year 1 but I kept lying to myself and ignoring reality. Basically not trying to make it seem as bad as it actually was. I did get alot of training out of the deal, boost my resume, and a nice 401K when I left.

Pros

Great company to work due to their great benefits, great staff perks and incentives such as free company luncheons and holiday socials monthly, company paid training courses and skills classes monthly, and friendly employees.

Cons

loan servicing management team is very unskilled, lacking knowledge of loan servicing duties, and unable to properly train employees thereby expecting them to learn their own duties with no direction; quick to delegate work but unwilling to learn positions of their own department therefore not able to assist employees; not open or willing to hear or listen to suggestions of senior dept employees to keep dept workflow under control; lacking empathy, moral, and appreciation for departmental employees but steadily piling on duties of which management has no knowledge of themselves inevitably causing employees to leave shrinking dept by half. Credit unions salaries are not competitive and management looks for reasons not to give hard working employees salary increases leaving them for years with the same salary and more duties.

Beware. Toxic, Outdated, and Close-Minded

Pros

You get paid a day early. That's the only "pro" about working here.

Cons

Upper Management is in the stone age. In their Branch offices, fossil workplace mentality is spear headed by a fossil of a VP and a pair of out of touch regional managers that practically reject change and innovation. Throw in a corporate dress code that's so outdated, it could have been written on Noah's ark. Some branches demand a 6 day work week (yet they will never allow over time), schedules have little flexibility and often get made at the last second or change without warning. Growth is none existent and the training potential is horrendous. One person trains the whole credit union and it takes years to complete the desired classes for advancement. The whole progression system is archaic and stale.
