Pros

None - awful behaviour from such a well known firm

Cons

Tunnel vision, left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. Winner of employer of the year due to people voting for an extra days holiday. People who worked there for way beyond their sell by date. Level 5 and above need a big review. No succession planning or career opportunity unless you move to Stratford where the head office is. HR are completely incompetent and can’t work out tax applied to company cars, leaving you with huge tax bills. A commercial sales team of 26 run into the ground & very badly treated. If there was shareholders this would never of been allowed to happen. Shambolic. Avoid like the plague. Elephant grave yard for the insurance industry!

Pros

Fellow colleagues are generally supportive and relationships with policyholders positive

Cons

Head Office and managers have no idea what it is like to work in a commissioned agency. Delegated compliant tasks for agency staff with limited knowledge, understanding, experience or time to undertake correct procedures. Unrealistic targets set by newly appointed senior managers from large private insurance companies with little comprehension of why NFU Mutual has a high reputation for service. An increasing belief by senior managers that sales takes precedence over service, despite protests to the contrary. An increasingly disillusioned workforce who are fed up with high workloads with low rewards. Many experienced agents being replaced by people with little or no experience of farming or insurance. Neighbouring agencies fighting over good risks to the detriment of company cohesion and morale. Poor rating leading to uncompetitive premiums and time wasted by agency staff and underwriters in negotiating discounts.

Pros

Struggling to find any. Decent products, financial service side much better than the insurance aspect . Decent salary for the area but that’s about it.

Cons

Poor management, back stabbing, under hand. Was brought in to lead in a role when all the management wanted was another person to bring the money in for them. Back stabbing, two faced management who lack any management skills whatsoever. NFU need to look at who they are letting run this branch.
