Pros

I started the first few years at NHS SC loving my job. It was close to home, the office was nice & there was promise of good opportunities. At first my manager was always supportive.

Cons

My manager’s attitude changed after some struggles with mental health. I had a CIPS course approved which was then taken away because of mental health which is clear discrimination. Then the bullying just got worse. I followed all the appropriate processes & then raised a formal grievence against my manager (this would have been the 4th raised against the manager for identical reasons). Whilst conducting the grievance I had no other option but to be off work on half pay for 3 months. In summary the treatment towards staff with any mental health issues is atrocious.

Pros

There are some lovely and talented people working there but they are reducing in number all the time.

Cons

Toxic leadership, lack of overarching coherence, people not valued, not a safe environment to speak out, lots of cronyism, hazardous to health.

Pros

The customer group we work with, it is the NHS. All the people who do not occupy management roles.

Cons

Utter lack of leadership. No sense of purpose or direction. Racist and bullying present all management levels. Complete disregard or understanding of how to maintain or develop any talent within the business. Too busy creating processes and work streams which do not serve the overall purpose of the NHS at any level. All senior managers are there to make a name for themselves and leave to other sectors, used as a stepping stone for bigger and better roles by them. Utter disregard to the requirements of it's staff and zero diversity in the management structure.
