      Commercial business services for NATO Nations and NATO Partners

      Pros

      International setting while living in a multi-cultural environment; good salary and really good benefits. Work-life balance is good. Very meaningful work. Interesting mix of exposures to both commercial business activities and international institution dealings.

      Cons

      Change is hard to apply. Rampant nepotism from employees with longevity. A culture of "haves" and the "have nots"... an older workforce with very generous retirement package and a newer workforce without. This does not bother me personally but I've seen this cause problems.

      I could easily do my job working 2 hours per day.

      Cons

      Toxic environment. Highly political. Evaluation based on sympathies and not on results / work delivered. No performance management. Too much ierarchy. No initiative. Demotivated old people in key positions. Promotions based on tenure only and nothing on competence. Hiring is pre-arranged; they eliminate the best from the process because they are a threat for the one that needs to be hired.

      salary, benefits, meaningful work, some great colleagues

      Cons

      The most toxic workplace I have ever worked at. Management is under-educated, 50+ in age, white men only. Nepotism is sky-high during recruitment. There is constant harassment and ongoing bullying from management towards staff. Good work is not valued, only sucking up is. Zero flexibility in working circumstances.
