So, this place could have had really crappy leadership, but were they hiring their nephews and daughters that were wanking off all day? Because that's nepotism. You were talking about poor leadership.
And, sorry, capitalism is great, and it sucks at the same time. Corporations and companies care about the bottom line. If you aren't good for the bottom line, they don't care about you. And they only care about you enough to keep you working to achieve that bottom line. The sooner you realize this the better off you'll be in this rat race of America. It trickles down all the way to entry level jobs, this isn't just corporate stuff.
