Toxic. Avoid at all costs

Pros

Not much. The brand once had potential. The people in Peru are interesting.

Cons

It all starts with the CEO: controlling, not as smart as he thinks, and obsessed with personality tests. Only listens to 'yes' people. Talks a big game, but never delivers. If you work there, you will work for only one person: the CEO/Founder. Nothing else will matter. You won't think for yourself or do anything in the best interest of the business. Serve the CEO, or get fired. Nobody works there long term. Nobody. Everyone gets fired or gets smart and leaves. Stay away. It might have had potential once, but it was all lost years ago.

Chasing A Moving Target

Pros

All on the ground team members have heart. You will not see commitment like this to a group effort anywhere else. The mission is the one positive string throughout your day to day.

Cons

The CEO is unpredictable. You will have few days of confidence in your work as it is never good enough. The commitment to a group effort is commendable but it is rooted on fear tactics by the C suite. Do not dare provide constructive feedback or voice your concerns as you will be blamed as the problem based on the reaction. Positive feedback is incentivized with money through anonymous forms. The personality testing and continual references in communication style is toxic. This is not a family, it is a business and leadership is not capable of building a strong culturally sound team. If you leave you will be cut off without a single goodbye or well wish from management.

Deeply Mismanaged

Pros

My co-workers were easily the best part of the job. Talented and charismatic people are drawn to the company. However, turnover is high due to challenging working conditions and poor leadership.

Cons

- Leadership fails to drive long-term, scalable strategy for the brand - Little to no empowerment of lower-level employees - Toxic culture that is driven by fear and pressure to meet unrealistic goals - Poor compensation and benefits that are in opposition to the company’s values - Lack of respect for work-life balance and boundaries - Leadership fails to prioritize investments in company infrastructure, resources, and onboarding - Tedious and personality-test-driven hiring process coupled with high turnover means roles go vacant for months on end, driving huge workload - No HR or recruiter presence
