Pros

-Remote work. -A few kind individuals on the team trying to do their best. -The company’s stated mission is admirable — but it ends at the surface.

Cons

Nourish sells itself as a wellness-focused company, but in reality, it treats employees as disposable labor. I resigned after a series of unacceptable and harmful experiences that made it impossible to stay. From the beginning, I was misled about my role. I was told I’d only be on phones about 10% of the time — but that changed overnight into being on the phone for 8 straight hours a day. No heads-up, no transition, just a sudden expectation that I’d do full-time call center work under the guise of a “support” role. I’ve worked in SaaS for a decade, and I’ve never experienced burnout like this — emotionally, physically, or mentally. But the final breaking point came when I had to leave work due to a medical emergency involving my mother where I had to rush her to the ER. Doctors later told me that if I had waited even a few minutes longer, she could have died. While I was trying to get her into an Uber and to the hospital, my manager repeatedly messaged me demanding a doctor’s note — despite the fact that I was not the patient and had clearly asked to pause the conversation. In that moment, my integrity was questioned, and I felt completely dehumanized. I was handling a life-or-death crisis and being asked to provide proof that I wasn’t lying. The next day? No follow-up. No check-in. Not even a simple “Is your mom okay?” After I sent my resignation email I didn't get any reply for hours and I was left in on their Slack channel to watch as they announced they’d be hiring new support, casually stating I was “taking time to care for family” — a false and minimizing statement used to spin PR while erasing the reality of what happened to the rest of the company. There was no accountability. No empathy. No reflection. Just cold efficiency and gaslighting. Everything about how this company responded made it clear that their values are just marketing. When I needed even the smallest ounce of humanity from leadership, I got silence and spin. I experienced this all in just 3 months of being with this Org. Nourish broke my trust on every level — from misrepresenting the role, to burning me out, to abandoning me during one of the scariest moments of my life. If you’re considering working here: don’t.

Pros

- Full autonomy over schedule - Phenomenal tech platform - Weekly/biweekly 55-minute appointments and most patients pay $0 out of pocket - Potential for various state licensure coverage if the request is accepted - Small stipends for CEUs and office expenses

Cons

Since starting with Nourish, the company culture has been extremely diluted and RD support has gradually been decreasing. RDs used to have an assigned manager and receive performance feedback, but now there are 4 managers for a team of >1300, and RDs are only evaluated on calculated metrics based on patient feedback and number of appointments. Due to the incessant hiring, RD schedules aren't being filled like they used to, which is starting to make it financially impossible to work only for Nourish full-time. Instead of taking ownership or pausing the hiring, leadership deafly advises RD's to market themselves more (not the conditions upon hire), apply for other state licenses, or take on more specialties. Also, RDs pay a high monthly premium for very high deductible insurance plans while non-patient-facing Nourish employees pay $0/month. Working as a RD for Nourish has been a consistently demoralizing experience.

Pros

It is nice to have total autonomy over your schedule and choosing your own specialties. Pay per appointment is decent. You are able to get credentialed with many insurance companies. There are opportunities to be reimbursed for licenses and liability insurance.

Cons

Shortly after I started, the company completely shifted its values and clinical philosophy without notifying employees. They have now leaned in hard to weight loss advertising, and many of their "partnerships" and marketing tactics are very cringy. I worry about the ads that my clients with ED/disordered eating are seeing from this company. Other significant changes, such as the pay structure, have been implemented with very little notice. It is difficult to get enough clients unless you are working in intentional weight loss. Income is inconsistent with a lack of new clients and cancellations. Working here can be a great tool for seeing your ideal clients with insurance, but you're on your own.
