Horrible, horrible company - especially if you are a woman.

Pros

Any small pro about this company is EASILY overshadowed by the toxic environment. There are no pros worth mentioning.

Cons

A toxic, toxic organization that is run by a complete narcissist and misogynist. Take note that positive reviews are either not from people working in Austin (read: in close proximity to the CEO) or folks who are in IT. Those who work in the corporate environment are subjected to being micromanaged by a complete imbecile who thinks he knows how to do every person's job, even down to individual contributors. If you're a woman or a minority, watch your back. You will have no upward mobility. Look at the folks on the senior leadership team. The only woman is at the director level even though she's been with the company for over a decade. That is INSANE. The only people laid off in the Austin office recently were women, and two were minorities. It is sickening, and the board does nothing to reign in the blatant misogyny. Even female vendors have been treated poorly and chased off from working with the CEO. Oh, and if you ever plan to work in marketing here, good luck. Leadership in that area is completely non-existent - the CMO can't be bothered to answer important emails or provide guidance, the CEO meddles constantly and thinks he is a marketing genius even though he has ZERO marketing experience (don't let his lies fool you), and you won't be given any budget to do anything. Oh, and when the marketing fails because you weren't given any money to do anything substantial, you'll be blamed for it. Sounds great, right?!

Pros

My team members are smart and would do great things if they weren't being micromanaged by the CEO.

Cons

Imagine this: You and everyone you work with are dropped into a giant toilet bowl. The CEO flushes the toilet over and over and then yells at you for spinning in circles and being wet. That's what it's like to work at Hostway.

Stuck Under Poor Leadership

Pros

Free lunches on Wednesdays to get you to come into the office

Cons

The CEO makes business decisions that impact the entire company based on his own personal agenda and opinions, especially around the pandemic and remote work. Any other departmental leader that has a differing point of view or wants to try different strategies will be pushed out either through blatant bullying or straight up firing. The toxic culture in the office has only gotten worse as the pandemic has gone on and anyone who speaks up for themselves is bullied relentlessly. This is not a culture for collaboration or sharing ideas — this is a company where only yes-men are valued and you are expected to be online and available 24/7/365 even if your job doesn't require it. Don't expect to have any semblance of work/life balance.

We thank you for your feedback. It is unfortunate that you feel this way, as our entire leadership team values collaboration by engaging employees directly, surveying them regularly, monthly town halls, regular off-sites, video updates, regular mentoring, etc. Bullying is not tolerated in any shape or form, and our CEO specifically helped put in policies to mitigate, and evangelizes against it. Further, Ntirety has always followed and will always follow local rules on Covid or any other health issue while keeping in mind that we are classified as an essential business, that operates 24x7. While no one individual is expected to be on 24x7, certain functions that support and secure our customers have to be on 24x7. Similarly, certain functions have to be physically present to operate our Data Centers. Thank you again for your feedback again.
