the story is, “work is a thing you do, not a place you go” or something like that but in reality it’s far from the truth. they tell you where they want you to be, what day to be in the office, how high to jump etc.
not difficult to see who management are and they’re the ones swearing, making fun of people, throwing their weight around the office. if they can be bothered to show up.
limited parking, and parking on the road leaves your car damaged or at increased risk of being damaged.
they think the company benefits are great but they’re just legal requirements i.e. holiday, pension, basic mat / pat cover. the opt in for private healthcare is good, but it is paid for by yourself and the opt in for company car is taxable as well.
always seemingly putting off paying customers / suppliers and avoidance of / or not paying bonuses and commissions, at times without warning, signifying obvious cash flow problems that is causing demotivation throughout the business. the work hard, play hard attitude is now just work hard, work hard! seemingly while the higher ups go off on month long holidays. definitely the right way to create an upstairs, downstairs divide.
people often disappear without word, and we’re told to act like “they’re dead to us”. actual words for a manager! HR nightmare, but then no one’s there to support you on that front so it’s hardly surprising.
essentially, this is an out of touch organisation in what’s supposed to be a cutting edge industry that sells remote working / flexible but does the opposite within it’s own business. look a bit closer and you’ll see the seams have unravelled!
