Pros

Results-driven atmosphere, start-up environment meaning loads of changes very often.

Cons

High pressure with little guidance on growth or adapting your approach. The environment feels highly competitive, with people being let go of the business every month without much explanation. Open communication about challenges isn’t encouraged or valued, making it difficult to stay positive and motivated in this kind of culture.

Toxic management

Pros

The team is talented and dedicated

Cons

The management does not care for the employees who are constantly disrespected and are seen as just workers who are there to bring monetary value as opposed to individuals. The environment is highly unstable with people being let go on the spot every month and no-one feels like their position is secure. The company operates on firing and hiring people as and when which is very unsustainable. Work will get piled on with the expectation that people will sacrifice their weekends and their life to the company. All of this leads to people feeling undervalued and unrecognised.

Unstable environment

Pros

There are genuinely talented and supportive colleagues who care about doing good work. The fast-paced environment provides opportunities to upskill quickly and gain exposure to many areas of a startup, which can be valuable early in your career.

Cons

The culture is highly unstable, with frequent turnover and very little job security. Decisions are made without transparency, leaving employees feeling uncertain and under pressure. Rather than fostering collaboration, the environment tends to create competition among team members, which is a shame. It’s a tough place to grow or feel secure in the long term.
