Pros

Since Orr Group is a smaller company, there are more opportunities for growth. The smaller community makes it easier to get to know your colleagues and build connections with them. When I first joined, the company was much smaller, and I felt comfortable and happy with my decision to work here. For a company of its size, the pay is good, and the benefits are solid.

Cons

Lacks Diversity: I joined this company because I thought it valued diversity, but I was wrong. Over time, employees of color were let go one by one without any real explanation. Leadership even admitted to me that diversity isn’t important to them, which was really disappointing. Micromanagement: We were required to come into the office three times a week, and attendance was closely tracked. This might make sense sometimes, but most of the team worked remotely, so coming in felt pointless. Plus, parking cost $25 a day, which added to the frustration. Poor Work-Life Balance: The company expected us to be online all day, work late, and even respond to emails on weekends. Leadership had no respect for personal time and often sent tasks to complete outside of work hours. Favoritism: Promotions and bonuses were handed out to favorites, not to those who worked the hardest. It was obvious who the Partners liked best, and those people got the rewards, even if they didn’t do much to earn them. Clients Always Come First: The company always sided with clients, no matter what. I saw employees lose their jobs just because a client didn’t like them. One time, a client made racist comments, and instead of addressing it, the company took the employee of color off the account and kept working with the client. Disorganized Leadership: The Partners don’t work well together, which causes confusion and chaos throughout the company. This company is not a great place to work. It doesn’t care about diversity, overworks its employees, and plays favorites. Leadership is disorganized, and they put clients ahead of their own people. I wouldn’t recommend working here if you want a fair and balanced workplace.
