My immediate superior and I became great friends but now that's gone. They offer great benefits if you can work there long enough.
Cons
Its a boys club. Only 2 women work in the place and they really bad mouth one of them. They were unfair in letting me go as there was no warning, no meeting beforehand, just "i'm letting you go because I know you aren't happy and the job is never going to change". Well no one lives in my head and can tell if I'm happy or not and when you start a job where you are told from the beginning that its going to be hard and confusing and it will take 6 months or more to shadow the supervisor and learn what to do and then you are let go after 2 months, it's a little unfair. I think I asked too many questions (which sounds stupid, right?). They also put a temp kid (25 years younger than me) that they hired (bought out his temp contract) the same week I was fired into my position the afternoon I left. I left a job of 10 years to go to a place where I was told would be a place for growth and opportunity and then was fired for a job that was never going to change. Made no sense. I've never been fired from a job.... ever. Really poor supervision and management.
