Pros
Smart people, well positioned to be a mid tier operator
Cons
Used to be able to take risks without even running it by a manager, now it feels like VP approval is required before closing a valve. Morale is toast. We worked our tails off in ‘20 when oil tanked, only to be rushed back to the office and told we were only 75% effective and once back in the office we still had all meetings and conversations virtually in order to “distance”. Then they laid off a ton of good people in an already lean workforce and didn’t cut expectations. The amount of low value time sucks has stayed flat with less head count, driving morale down even more. The only way to get promoted is by saying “Yes”, it has nothing to do with merit. Development opportunities are few and far between. Back when it was a growing company, it seemed like there were opportunities everywhere, but all we have done is shrunk.
