Pros

The people on the ground floor are intelligent and caring. But they're churning so fast I'm not sure the same folks are there anymore.

Cons

Management makes promises they can't keep to prospects, customers, and employees. They burn out talent and refuse to hire more staff. They take advantage of hard workers. They pitch a modern workplace and position themselves as a startup, but offer no equity, and their work from home flexibility is nil. They see themselves as a software company but cheap out on employee hardware and support. Employee churn is horrible. Of the 5 executive team members in the 2015 photo on this site, only the CEO is still on staff. The culture peaked around then, hence the positive reviews. It's since reverted. The new leadership comes from Xtium. Read their reviews. You could copy and paste them here and they would apply. It seems like their goal is to sell the company, but it's unclear what's worth buying. They sell software features before they exist, against competitors who have those features today. Their people (who are great talents and the real value this company provides) are overworked and unlikely to stay long term.

Thank you for your candid feedback and apologies for my delay in responding. I share your sentiment that the people here are amazing and we are working everyday to make their experience at PeopleMetrics a great one. I also agree that the people here are super smart. PeopleMetrics is definitely not for everyone and the team we have here today is the strongest if has been in our 17 years. I do want to clarify any speculation that my goal is to sell the company. My goal is to help our clients transform the customer experience and to provide the best available thinking and software to help them do that. And I have never been more optimistic about the future of PeopleMetrics. Sean McDade CEO & Founder

Pros

The employees who actually do the work are smart and have potential, but only if they leave and join a real company. Nothing else is positive in any way. Consider yourself warned.

Cons

Product is a mess. CEO Sean is arrogant, cheap and incompetent. His sidekick David is a million times worse, he is incompetent, a liar and blames others for his faults. Employees are afraid to ask for help or talk about anything in the office because management is too busy pretending they are perfect and the only problems are the employee's fault. They pretend to be a modern technology based company but focus on micromanagement and busy work rather than results. You will be given ambiguous goals and if you ask for specifics you will find you are suddenly not competent/experienced/etc. Sean and David only want employees who will act as yes men and cover for their mistakes. You cannot trust a single word that comes out of Davids mouth, and both he and Sean are unprofessional in every way. The company offers zero flexibility and the benefits are awful - they do not care about employees and outsource their HR so as an employee of this mom and pop shop you have no voice when you are treated unfairly and poorly. This company is horrible, the worst I've ever experienced. Stay away - scraping gum off the street for a living is better than working here.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. It is never easy to read a review such as yours, but all feedback helps us get better. I am the first to say that PeopleMetrics is not for everyone. As an entrepreneurial company in our 17th year, we strive to find the best fit between our values and each person who joins the team. This does not always happen. I am sorry and disappointed that it did not work out for you at PeopleMetrics. Sean McDade CEO & Founder

Pros

Smart, friendly dedicated employees. An okay place for someone right out of school to get some experience but do not plan on staying long and use this limited experience as a launch pad to a much better job/opportunity in the future. Good location easy to get to via public transportation due to its location in Center City.

Cons

Management treats employees so bad that turnover is more than 50%. The CEO, Sean and his side-kick/President, David will say the high rate of turnover is due to PeopleMetrics being an elite entrepreneurial company and not everyone is cut out for it. However, the truth is, employees get tired of empty promises, an overwhelming work load, lack of flexibility (work/life balance), unappreciative attitude and dishonesty stemming directly from the CEO and President. Sean treats employees like they should feel lucky to work there and never shows appreciation or an attitude of "this company is lucky to have talented dedicated employees". In the CEO’s and President’s eyes, the company is a, “start-up,” but the company has been in business for more than 15 years and they still haven’t figured things out nor a direction to focus on. More importantly, the “intensive growth” they refer to is really just a constant mad scramble to stay afloat and manage customer attrition and employee turnover. There is very little strategic planning, job training, top-down communication or direction, so new employees are left wondering what to do and how to do it. More experienced employees are burnt out and spend a lot of their spare time looking for new jobs. Just plan on attending plenty of meaningless, directionless meetings… ALL DAY… and getting your actual work done on your own time. Sean, the CEO, is cheap in every way (as mentioned in other reviews) and will promise that the base pay is low and the real earning potential is in the bonuses, but bonuses are purposefully made to be unachievable. Sean is like the guy who promises to pay you when he gets his tax return... IT WON’T HAPPEN! In addition to the goals being set at unattainable levels, you will have an even tougher time figuring out how to reach them since Sean changes focus, direction and goals constantly. Expect a reorg an average of 3 times a year and a new boss several times a year (due to turnover and reorgs). In fact the erratic behavior and change in direction is the only constant you will find at PeopleMetrics. The technology used in the office is years behind the competition. In spite of this, the tech team is capable and very talented but limited by a lack of direction and a lack of investment in the future of the company. This is NOT a technology company, it’s a services company! Finally, the reason you will find so many positive reviews is because as soon as a negative review is posted Sean/David find an employee or two and “encourage” them to post scripted review(s) touting what a great place PeopleMetrics is… I know this first hand. It’s easy to spot the pattern. Do yourself a favor and check out the Glassdoor reviews from Xtium. David ran that company the same way he and Sean run PeopleMetrics. So if you’re not desperate for a paycheck you would be wise to run... fast!

Thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback on your perspective on PeopleMetrics. We certainly agree that the team here is amazing, as I have mentioned in other responses, this is the most talented group I have had the pleasure of working with. Everyone here is focused on helping our clients transform the customer experience using a combination of great technology and services. It is really amazing and inspiring to see. PeopleMetrics is not for everyone and I am always disappointed when someone's experience here did not meet expectations. That seems to be the case here. It means I have to get better and every day I wake up, I am excited and grateful for that challenge. Sean McDade CEO & Founder PeopleMetrics
