Pros

Shoreditch is a cool location and the brand's concept would be amazing if it was well executed

Cons

I agree with everything that has been said on the previous comments that ranked Positive Luxury at 1 star. The company is poorly managed, and employees are treated with zero respect. Many colleagues were reduced to tears on a weekly basis due to the ridiculous expectations placed upon them by an incredibly confrontational CEO. Employees are expected to work ridiculous hours for very low wages. The company still classifies itself as a start-up, despite being in its 8th year of growth. This is due to the high staff turnover and the lack of direction and KPIs. Employees are never rewarded or praised Can guarantee that all of the higher rankings on this page will have been posted by management currently working at Positive Luxury

Pros

The staff can make it more bearable to work there and once a week you get to leave/ join one hour early/late

Cons

The high staff turn-over is blatant by simply looking at LinkedIn profiles. And unfortunately, it is not like I was assured in my interview a case of management being changed. Every previous review that is negative is accurate and almost kind compared to the true experience of working there. Positive reviews are falsified modelled on current or past employees. The simple deceiving factor is the period of time the positive review employee has been working there. Few employees have stayed over six months in the business, and the ones who have did not hold the roles stated in the reviews. Any slight detective work on LinkedIn will reflect this. A whole article if not tome could be dedicated to what has been witnessed by employees there. Within a year, a twelve person team was replaced twice, and some positions even more times. The CEO goes on hypocritical rants (in which she can contradict herself within the end), is flippant and regularly changes her mind, while giving unrealistic deadlines with almost non-existent budgets. The staff is competent, but worn out within their first month by the consistent changes and demands. The atmosphere in the office is often tense, and the free cookies and fruit are meant to make up for the anxiety caused by such an impossible workplace. For being a company promoting sustainability and social fairness, it does not reflect the values internally, with unethical practices and factors like overtime being encouraged and at times enforced. The CEO picks her favourites, who get preferential treatment which in this case means they are less bullied or shouted at and given more leave to come and go as they please. The business itself suffers as the inconsistency of the upper management is reflected in the business, with constant changes of what the membership truly is: it used to be an e-com site, then a sort of magazine, then a Saas, then a membership - all meant to mainly satisfy the greenwashing needs of the larger or better known companies that are part of Positive Luxury. Because of this there is a regular turn-over of the smaller brands as they come to terms with the reality that Diana, the CEO, is a great liar. If you wish to ignore this advice, make sure your waterproof mascara works as you will regularly be reduced to tears. *The stars are given only as there was no option not to.
