Irrational level of overconfidence in their product..

Pros

- Flexible work patterns permitted - Very informal and relaxed work culture

Cons

Research the senior leadership team thoroughly via Google and Companieshouse before accepting an offer, many of them have questionable backgrounds, and a history of software plagiarism and lawsuits with previous business ventures. Furthermore, the product itself not a new or unique concept, and is poorly managed internally from a technical/IT perspective compared to most other SaaS firms of any size in the startup game. The management way oversell the business potential, innovation, and overall benefits of this service to applicants and clientele, repeatedly using the phrase "fastest growing startup in London!!" (no.. its not..) . This is particularly manipulative to fresh graduates, or entry level career starters whom are unable to pick up the sales tactics used to lure them in. On top of the fraudulent false advertising, the salaries are poor and below London standards, there were NO additional employee benefits, no personal development sessions with line managers, etc. They are simply focused on hiring as quickly as possible and closing out customers deals as quickly as possible (retention rate LOW btw), to give the facade of a bigger operation than they are to potential investors (they have very few backers).

Thank you for your feedback. We take all feedback very seriously: the good and the bad. That said, the company you're describing is not the Reachdesk of today. Our leadership team is led by executives who have grown businesses to $100M+ multiple times. In our early days, we provided as many benefits as we possibly could. With our latest fundraising round, our first initiatives have been all about investing in our employees. For example, we recently launched a suite of competitive benefits including retirement/pension match, private health insurance in the UK, mental health and wellness benefits, professional development stipends, work from home stipends, and commuter benefits. We take investing in our people very seriously. Lastly, you mention few backers, but the company just announced a $43M Series B round led by Highland Europe, Highland Capital Partners, Hubspot, and RLC ventures. We may not be the "fastest growing startup in London!!" but we were named the 5th fastest growing product in 2021 by G2. We’re sorry that you weren’t able to experience some of these changes, but would welcome hearing more from your experience as we are always looking to do better.

The Ship is Sinking!

Pros

Reachdesk pays well, offers excellent health insurance, and has a generous 401k program with matching. People at Reachdesk are generally fantastic, and there were many team events to build camaraderie. If you play your cards right, you can also get free trips to Lisbon or London.

Cons

Upon joining Reachdesk, I was told that ‘gifting’ could create multiple billion-dollar companies. However, after the environment changed in 2022, gifting became an extremely low priority nice to have. Quota attainment was extremely low, with less than five reps hitting target between US/UK. Leadership has no idea what to do (leadership is very inexperienced) as the company has continued to shrink, and their only response is multiple rounds of layoffs. Reachdesk has a very mercenary culture; no one is there because they care about the company -- most people are there because the company pays well, and you can (maybe) work remotely. This has led to many leadership churns and created an environment where people only work there because of what they can get out of the company for themselves. Last of all, very little learning or development will happen at Reachdesk. Bosses at RD are only focused on what you can provide for the company, not how you can improve your skills and become a better employee. If you are looking for a stable, organized company that values you and your growth, Reachdesk is not the place to be. Also, any positive reviews after January 12 were ordered by RD leadership.

Do not work for OR with Reachdesk

Pros

Small group of good people.

Cons

The company is running itself into the ground and they can't seem to accept it. They made 32% of the company redundant without any reasoning, insights or answers, it was done with the least amount of respect as possible, especially to those who have been at the company for 1-2 years. Senior management is toxic and people are only in their positions due to longevity at the company, not because they are deserving of it. It's really sad that the few remaining employees are given absolutely no security and will probably be victims of zero payout. The CEO is completely out of touch and doesn't even understand the product and the founders are as quiet as a mouse and don't have a say in anything. It's a waste of time and energy..

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback on your experience working at Reachdesk. Unfortunately, in response to the circumstances affecting the global tech industry, we had to make the difficult and unavoidable decision to complete a round of redundancies. With the intention of being as transparent as possible, we held individual meetings with each impacted employee to provide them with an explanation for this decision. We recognise the impact of this decision and accordingly we offered enhanced severance packages representative of employee's level, location, and tenure. We believe our minimum package was fair, consistent and meaningful. Your feedback has been shared with our leadership team and will be considered moving forward.
